We already have it enabled in all of our SOLUS3 schools. I'm just curious to know what schedules other users of it have set.

I'm interested to know what days and times other Geekers who use the SOLUS3 Auto-Deploy feature set their scheduled to, so if your happy to share, please post your products (SIMS, FMS, Discover, SOLUS3) and the days and times your auto deployment is set to.

I want to get 3.5 out to all schools before the Spring release, I cant be arsed with the rolling out of 20,000 previous SIMS updates just to get Spring installed. I upgraded our LA DS to 3.5 without issues, and then upgraded my test environment also without issues, and it was really nice to see SOLUS3 deploy nothing else but the Spring release! The real test will be when it's in the schools that have 150 SOLUS3 agents to upgrade, and then wne Spring is released and seeing if it truly does upgrade offline devices when they next come online.

Whoever thought putting Metro, a touch screen designed interface, into a Windows Server product deserves a slap round the face. That is all.

My mate has Virgin Media in Bristol and has packet loss constantly (think there is a FB group for Virgin Media Bristol Customers who have issues?). He works in the networking field and constantly shoots down the Virgin Reps on the phones who ask him to turn his router off and on again. Over the space of an hour, he looses about 25% of packets. Virgin Media claim this is an acceptable level and wont release him from his contract, and seem to do sweet FA in resolving the issue.

Well, I went with GiffGaff in the end and I took out their £12 goody bag (250 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited data) and am chuffed to bits. Initially, I had some minor issues getting the data working and had to delete all my APN's and fiddle about adding new ones, however after that, it's was good. Signal is spot on (as I would expect) and have no issues with playing music through Google Music. Even got it set to always play high quality mode too, and it works a treat.

The costs of O2's simplicity sims don't even come close to what gift gaff charge. Even when I canceled with O2 and said I found a sim only deal, the operator said "I bet it's with GiffGaff" and immediately offered me a PAC code. They just can't compete in the sim only world.

Either @vikpaw did not read the title of my post correctly, or he was just generally asking if Discover was supported on SQL2012? I read it as a request of conformation that Discover is not supported on SQL2012...

That's referring to when Discover will be supported. At the S/W SOLUS3 Technical Seminar, Jon Wood stated that you can still sync SIMS .net and Discover even if SIMS is on SQL2012 and Discover is on SIMS2008 (which are both supported).

No, but Capita have said that SIMS on 2012 and Discover on 2008 "should" work, however I am finding this is not really the case!

Has anyone got this setup working? I've been doing some internal testing here and so far have been unable to get the transfer between SIMS and Discover to work. I've tried all manor of things and even done a complete clean re-install of all aspects and no luck. It's not even like I can run the sync users, grant transfer rights, grant sync rights or create catalog commands as you can only specify a single SQL instance within the commands! Not a lot of use when SIMS is on a separate instance to Discover! Sometimes, Capita's idea of "supported" makes me laugh...

Request it's release from Capita or your local LA support unit, then apply it via SOLUS2.

In theory, I "think" it should work but I would really play it safe and either do it manually, or get SOLUS3 installed.

You can't do it automatically without SOLUS3. You can manually run the client installer on each workstation and it will offer the option to upgrade.
