  1. Our LA service uses Esendex and they had no problems/delays as far as I'm aware.
  2. Good idea. However if you want the ability to roll back/restore previous versions if something breaks or goes wrong, loading it into a VM may be a better option to allow things like snapshots. VirtualBox is free and perfect for it. Plus when your VM is running as you want it, you can back up the VM file somewhere. We run all of our test systems in VirtualBox and it's great. When a new version is out, grab a copy of the current VM and upgrade it. We have a repository with the previous six full and beta versions of SIMS .net.

    DayZ Standalone

Did just this yesterday, but on Lingor again. Did you know there are now planes available?! Small 2 man bi-planes. Great fun!
  4. Doh!
  5. I did not think it would be long for Kim DotCom to fire up his next hosting service. This one apparently uses browser based encryption technology meaning they have no access to the encryption keys. I wonder if this is enough to cover him when people start uploading copyright content. Yea, he always seems really open and encourages any questions as long as they can be answered quickly by him!

Seems Rocket has also commented on The War Z: Schildhuhn comments on Before the holidays Rocket asked for harder and more interesting questions if he were to do another AMA. Here are mine... feel free to add yours.
  8. As @FN-GM said, the installers should be on your SIMS folder (I think the usual standard is S:\SIMS\Setups). Run SIMSInst.exe and follow the on screen instructions to install the SIMS .net client. If your School uses SOLUS3 to install/upgrade SIMS, you'll need to chat to your ICT/Network support to get the laptop added into the SOLUS3 environment so SIMS .net can be deployed to it. Just noticed in your title, you have "test environment". Do you mean you want the SIMS client installed and pointed to your live system just to learn about the features/menu routes etc, or do you want to actually plan to play around with SIMS by putting fake data into the system? When SIMS is installed, it will need to be pointed to a SIMS database which I guess would be a live database on your school server so won't be ideal for actual testing and playing around in. It may be worth looking at installing a local MS SQL Express instance on your laptop (or into a VM) and restore a copy of a SIMS backup into it so you can play around with it to your hearts content without worrying about causing any damage to a live system.
  9. Your a gent.
  10. I'm surprised that the US has the most visits by Country. I just assumed that the UK would have been the majority viewer! Also, 31% using IE?! As IT professionals, I would have though that it would have been far fewer!

    Snow!

Cats and snow = awesome times! One paw in, one paw out and shake. Repeat many many times.
  13. I've been flicking between threads and sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not. Guess it's in circulation with the normal logo. 100,000k threads is impressive! Based on your number of posts @localzuk, I guess a fair chunk of them could be yours!
  14. I'm sure I saw a updated banner celebrating 100,000 threads but it seems to have gone. Testing in preparation? Or have we actually surpassed 100,000 threads and the banner is here and there? Edit: I SAW IT AGAIN!!!

    Snow!

To be fair, while the main A roads and Motorway are (IMO) not too bad (still large amounts of slush, ice & snow patches, M5 down to two lanes with most cars going @ 50mph), I can understand why some people wound not want to drive on them. I guess it's all depends on their confidence with driving in such conditions. Any other roads, lanes, side streets, back ways etc are a lot worse as they have not been gritted, or have a low volume of vehicles going down them. The wife did not want to drive in it so I dropped her off into work (new job still in her probation period so while she did not want to drive on the roads, she really wanted to get into work). Plus I would guess that some people have kids where their schools are closed and having no one to look after them meaning they have to stay home.

    DayZ Standalone

Just seen an updated post from Rocket on the state of the DayZ Standalone: Where is the Standalone Release? I suppose I... | DAYZ Reading though, it sounds likes it's coming on a treat, and the detail they are implementing is epic (Killing a player with a shot to the head in order to steal his night vision goggles could destroy the actual goggles, disease tracking like cholera lingering on clothes a player wears, etc etc). ALso some nice looking screenshots at the top.

Not so, as your (zombie) senses will be on on full alert and at any sigh of danger, you'll just sprint off to safety screaming "DANGER!!! DANGER!!! DANGERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!"
  22. Best. Video. Ever.
  23. That's a big one right there!!!!
  24. Plus you can actually listen to the music you did not know existed removing the risk of buying some total garbage that you can't return in case you "copied it". Was listening to Blink-182 on Spotify and found a Bluegrass cover CD and it was a seriously awesome find. The Hillbilly/Yokabilly version of 'All the Small Thinks' was classic!

    ZombiesRun

Downloaded it a few days ago but not actually been out running with it yet. Does look like fun though and all the reviews seem to be positive. Just need to get some music on my phone as I usually listen to my iPod.
