Just had a call from a school who have been fully SOLUS3 since the SIMS Spring upgrade. When they add new devices to the SIMS Workstation channel in SOLUS3, the SIMS Spring client gets installed automatically on these devices instead of the SIMS Autumn client! When SOLUS3 was installed initially, the school were already on the SIMS Spring release. In SOLUS3, only the server was added at first. The SIMS Spring upgrade was then rolled out to the server. As it was already running the Spring release, everything "installed" and the result was a "successful" upgrade which would ensure that new workstations added to the SIMS channel from then on would automatically get the SIMS client installed. Since then, the environment has been populated with all of the schools SIMS workstations, over 150 devices. The SIMS Summer and SIMS Autumn upgrades have since been rolled out and as you would expect, some devices were offline resulting in only a "partially successful" deployment. Even though the SIMS Autumn deployment was "partially successful", all the server elements upgraded successfully so I would assume that new clients added to the SIMS Workstations channel would get the SIMS Autumn client automatically. This appears to not be the case. It seems new clients will get the version of SIMS from the last fully "successful" upgrade (in this case, SIMS Spring) rather then the latest version of SIMS that's been released to schools (SIMS Autumn). It results in us having to manually deploy the latest version of SIMS to these outdated workstations. Not a lot of use when adding new machins to the SIMS Channel ans you have to wait for the SIMS Spring client to automatically install before then manually redeploying the SIMS Autumn upgrade to get the clients up to date!

I can't seem to see this anywhere in the log files, but though I';d ask in case it is there and I'm missing it. Does anyone know if there is any way to see if the SIMS .net client was closed down on a workstation when the SIMS client upgrade was pushed out via SOLUS3 and ran on the workstation? I'd be keen to know if a) SIMS .net was open when the upgrade notification count down bubble appeared on the workstation, and b) if so, was SIMS .net shut down before the actual upgrade began running?

No, it's a red plus terminal that's actually the only marked terminal on the battery casing with a giant +!

Nope, that's a plus terminal as well. Now you see my problem. I have scoured the battery under the bonnet and there is not a single trase of a negative terminal that I can see! I even had a read of my manual and it's not clear there either.

It is P/W protected.

That's it! Spot on. Should have thought to take a pic when I was under there last night. The large rectangular plastic section in the lower left hand corner of the pic is where the main positive terminal is.

What if the doner car does not have a standard negative terminal to connect to but the dead car does?

My situation is the other way. 206 with flat battery (both + and - terminals) - 308 with working battery (+ terminal and presumably - on engine block). So I would assume connecting the 206 - terminal to my 308 engine block will still allow me to successfully jump the 206 into life?

I did think that at first as the red + terminal is under a little plastic "lid" however I have scoured the case and there is no other hidden compartment!

An odd question really. I've jump started a couple of cars in my life time with no issues. The wife's 206 battery is flat since the cold spell and I've cracked out the jump leads. The problem is on my 308. the battery has a visible red + terminal, but no sign at all of the black - connector so I'm at a loss as where to connect the black lead to! Any ideas?

I can;t seem to find it but you may also want to post up the SupportNet resource ID so the OP can find the password required to extract the files as it's password protected.

I can see 3.4.107 for download under KB18940 but can't seem to find a way to download 3.4.118. YOu could download and install 107 and then self upgrade it to 118!

My bad, I thought you knew! Guess who's flying this bad boy!!! And guess who landed it safely...by touching down in the middle of the runway, going into a blind panic as the fence at the end of the runway was less than 100ft away while still going at 60kph and ejecting only to fly 100ft forwards in mid air and die by crashing into the fence. @MK-2 got to the plane and let me know it was fine and I would have survived if I stayed in it!

If you have an Android smartphone, iPhone or iPad, then you can get the official XBMC remote control which really is seriously awesome (free on Android, around 69p on iOS). I'd be keen to know what plugs you went for, and what kind of performance you get from them once they are up and running.

Anyone know what the performance is like compared to Windows 7 and if it's any more demanding performance wise?

I don't really stream much content. Interestingly I did try home plugs about 3 years ago. I thought they would work a treat as I was in a new flat with a single ring main. I got my two devices connected only once at 20Kbps. They went straight back. Maybe the technology is better now and worth a second look.

Great tips there mate! This is the only reason I want a Raspberry Pi. I have XBMC running in the front room but this would be perfect for in the bedroom. All I need to do now is get hold of one! I guess you've connected it via Ethernet? Presumably Raspbmc will run happily when connected via WiFi?

Microsoft Windows I'm guessing MS are not selling quite as many copies of Windows 8 as they wanted to with the offer they are currently running. While I don't really like what I've seen of Windows 8, at that price, it's a little bit of a temptation to upgrade with the hope that it can only get better. Or will Windows 8 be the next Me with a better version of Windows out in the next few years? Thoughts?
