  1. It sounds like the "auto download to agents" setting is not enabled in SOLUS3 meaning workstations won't get the required update packages sent to them until the actual deployment begins. 5 devices is the default value for deploying update packages to at one time so when the upgrade begins, it will push the upgrade components out to 5 devices at a time. Enable "auto download to agents" so when you receive a new upgrade, SOLUS3 will actually push out the update files to each workstation before the upgrade is due to start. Then once the upgrade kicks off, all the workstations will already have the required upgrade packages and upgrade at the same time.
  2. You've used SOLUS3 before havn't you...
  3. From the Steam store: "3 Alpha Lite Invites (not yet available) – Introduce your friends to Arma 3 by inviting them to the free invite-only Arma 3 Alpha Lite (available from March 14, 2013 until June 18, 2013)." Guess they will be made available around 6pm then as they usually go by EST.
  4. Oh well done. Now everyone knows BS mans super secret identity...
  5. Slightly OT, but yes I am. Not sure if I have received any Alpha Lite keys yet, but take my word for it... for £20, this game is a total STEAL!
  6. I'm fed up with SOLUS3 now. Capita insist that workstations should automatically upgrade if they are online in SOLUS3 and are out of data, but I'm calling b******t on this as it's blatantly not happening. Got one school that has had SOLUS3 for the past few months and has the agent on all of their SIMS devices. I had a call from a colleague this morning who on site who can't get into SIMS to deliver training due to an "incompatible database" error. I find that this workstation is on 7.146. It was online in SOLUS3 and had not upgraded itself. I manually redeployed the workstation client and it upgraded with out any issues. I decided to run an environment report against the SIMS Client devices and found 13 devices in SOLUS3, online, but running on various SIMS .net versions between 7.140 and 7.148. Done a re-deployment to all of these devices and they've all upgraded. Can someone please explain to me why these devices have been out of date for so long, and why SOLUS3 has not upgraded them automatically? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's B.S Man!
  7. There are snakes on land (which apparently can open doors). Maybe the two can have a battle royal? Or maybe this is evolution all over again. The fish AI is self-aware and trying to evolve.....
  8. Has anyone read through the issue tracker website they set up? (My View - Arma 3 Feedback Tracker). It's actually really impressive and it's interesting to see the most popular issues. The top one that really interestes me is that loads of people are reporting that only 30%-50% of their CPU and GPU is actually being utilised. I monitored this when I was playing and my 8 cores were barely breaking a sweat, and to be honest, it was quite smooth as well. It's been assigned to a dev and if they can address this, hopefully it play just as smoother! There are some amusing issues reported too. One is reporting fish swimming out of the water and across land (which apparently is worse when there is a storm!). Then the stupid "issues" from people who have no concept of what ARMA actually is, for example requesting mulitplayer is modeled on CoD with leveling, perks, classes etc. I hope someone punches that guy in the face.
  9. I've created a custom co-op mission in the ARMA3 editor to play online and it's pretty awesome. What I'm not sure on is how to add a mission briefing and objectives. I Googled and I can't seem to find any clear instructions/guidance. If anyone knows how to, or has used a resource that has clear instructions, help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Instructables - Make, How To, and DIY - Want to make, mod, bake, create etc? Here is the place to go. FAIL Blog - Funny FAIL Pictures and Videos - Awesome site for the lolz. The Atlantic - In Focus - Awesome photo blog that have new albums up on various subjects almost daily.
  11. Is now a good time to drop in the term "SOLUS 3"?
  12. What game were you playing?
  13. Reinstalling FMS is really not an "extreme" action. You'd be surprised how often good, old fashioned reinstall of SIMS .net or FMS fixes odd issues!
  14. Workstations won't receive any SQL updates as they don't have SQL installed. Have you tried the classic (and sometimes successful) step of doing a complete reinstall of FMS? It's installed in the same way as SIMS, but in your Setups\FMS folder is an FMSInst.exe file. Basically, rename the current FMS installation folder on the affected workstation to something like C:\Program Files\SIMS\FMSSQL.OLD and then run the FMSInst.exe from the S:\SIMS\Setups\FMS folder. It will install any pre-requisits that are missing and then install the FMS client. Does this happen on any other FMS workstations?
  15. It's not specifically on the server (although it will be on the server as FMS is installed on it). It's a file on every machine that has the FMS client installed. I "believe" it controls table access to the FMS database to ensure users don't try and amend the same data at the same time. Open the control panel on the workstation, and you'll find a BDE Administrator option. Open it, select the configuration tab then expand Drivers | Native | Paradox and the first setting in the list is the NET DIR (where the PDOXUSRS.NET file is created). Try setting it to a folder off the root of C: (like C:\IDAPI) and click the blue arrow to save the changes. Create an IDAPI folder on the C: drive and ensure that users have full write access to this folder, then get the user to try again.
  16. It could be a printer error like @vikpaw suggested, but I think it's an error relating to lack of write permissions to the PDOXUSRS.NET file, or the folder it's stored in. In the BDE settings, we set the Paradox NET DIR location to C:\IDAPI and ensure every user has full write permissions to that folder.
  17. Cheers for the link, but I'm just going to can it. I only have the mobo, CPU and RAM in working order, so would need a case, PSU and GPU. Just not worth it really.
  18. Scrap that idea. After seeing how mush my old CPU is going for on eBay, I'm just going to chuck it. It will cost more then the CPU is worth to get it up and running!!!
  19. I've decided to turn my old PC into a media center. It's a full size ATX motherboard, so I'm after the smallest possible case to squeeze it into. Any suggestions?
  20. No I haven't, I keep meaning to give it a go. My mate swares ARMA2 looks a lot nicer with it, but it involves copying various files into the ARMA2 dir to get it working. Not too sure how you can configure it either...
  21. Voodoo cards! YES! I did exactly the same but wanted it to play Kingpin: Life of Crime. Loved that game!!! Before that, I played Half-Life in software rendering mode and loved it. When I realised I could play it again this time with 3D rendering, I wet myself! It was like playing a whole new game!!!
  22. No one?

    Day Z

Yea, some of the new features are awesome and the stand alone is looking wicked. Not sure about longest life, still have a living character on the standard DayZ I've not played on so must be up to 100 days plus? Shame it does not show just play time rather then total time since character creation.
  24. Interesting, last time I saw an interactive Google logo, my colleague was using IE9 and it was just a static image and only seemed to work in Chrome or Firefox. Thought Google may have been subtly hinting at using another browser.
  25. Exactly why I bought a 1TB Segate HDD for my Steam library in my new rig rather then an SSD. You just can't get the size needed yet, plus the largest SSD drives at the moment are way too expensive. May be wrong, but was that not how much the PS3 was when it came out? And the Xbox was not far off? Also, technically you won't need to buy all new games. You'll instantly have your whole Steam catalog available to play on your new 'console', and most people I know with Steam have 100+ games. No 'backwards compatibility' issues there to worry about. Is this even 'officially' in development?
