  1. I'm more familiar with the re-release era. IE: SIMS Summer 2012 v1, v2, v3, v4 etc. 17 assessment patches were needed fore that release if I recall correctly!
  2. Congratulations. You've gained the right to strut like Bender:
  3. You need it for the Cenusus (due on the 16th I believe?) It's a statutory requirement and has do be done, otherwise it could affect your school's funding. I don't think your business manager would be happy very if it could not be completed on time.
  4. Interesting, started seeing a very similar issue in a school, a Windows 7 workstation though:
  5. Yea, I've seen this too. SOLUS3 tends to suck up all free CPU/RAM when a deployment is initiated. Sometimes it slows the server down so much that the SOLUS3 UI reports the service is not responding when in fact it is still running!!!
  6. Some of this stuff is simple genius! Thanks for sharing!
  7. Are they publicly available yet or just for kickstarters? If so, where from? Their teastick looks cool too. Started getting into loose leaf teas! Edit: Just looked at the order site: INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: We currently are only shipping domestically. When the Impress Coffee Brewer is no longer in Pre-Order status, and we have a full stock in-house, we will begin International shipping. The expected date for this is June 2013.
  8. 4Tbsp seems a little excessive to me for 1 cup of coffee? Thought usually it was 1Tbsp per mug, 1 heaped Tbsp for stronger coffee?
  9. It "looks" big, but how big is it? I always have a half-pint mug for my tea/coffee.
  10. Photo please?
  11. Voted, but this has been debated for years and Capita simply won't do it. All their time and effort is going into SOLUS3. Thread: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/10114-sims-msi.html
  12. Supported from the SIMS Autumn 2013 release: Stick with 32-bit Office through like Microsoft recommend. Your more likely to have reporting issues with SIMS and 64-bit Office, plus there is really no need what so ever for the 64-bit unless you are working in stupidly MASSIVE spreadsheets in Excel. @FN-GM - That roadmap is out of date, an updated Capita Technical Roadmap (Jan 2013) is available on SupportNet under 17910.
  13. Well, now the SIMS Spring upgrade has gone out to most of our schools in our LA last night, I can say that this is now back to the realms of being not all it's cracked up to be! We have found a good number of sites were a device has been defined in the SIMS Client channel in SOLUS3, yet the client has not auto updated automatically when it's come online! However a manual deployment cause it to be pushed straight out. Very annoying as once again it's creating calls that we don't need! Al,so like my 1st post though, we also found a couple of devices that were in SOLUS3 but not members of the SIMS Client channel, adding them in triggered the upgrade to be pushed out immediately...
  14. South Park more then any other show I reckon! Endless Jew Gold references there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuYUuu9e-VE
  15. I said the video was good! What more do you want?!
  16. I got an Xbox 360 free with a mobile contract a few years ago. I loved it at the time, and playing GTA online with mates was epic. Plus N or Arcade was amazing! I just hated paying to play online, plus everyone stopped playing it (not to mention wife agro from hogging the TV) so sold it and went back to PC. The one thing I really do like though is Microsoft's Xbox controller. Bought one for my PC and use it for the likes of GRID, Batman and Assassins Creed.
  17. You thinking about the Football Manager series?
  18. I was genuinely upset when I found out that Valve had Pulled the originally planned cross platform play from CS:GO at the last minute. I really hope one day a we get a cross-platform FPS.
  19. You could take the mean option. Bin the drive and say "serves you right for not backing up!". Failing that, if you do get the data off, be sure to explain just how close they were to loosing everything. So much so that they shower you in hugs, kisses and beer for your efforts.
  20. Used to love the Simpsons ages ago and collected the DVD box sets as soon as they came out. Then something just clicked and when I watch it now, I just don't find it funny any more. It's had a good run, time to call it quits methinks. The OP vid is good though.
  21. You love it really. Just once more reason with PC > Console.
  22. Transfers run automatically every night without any need to complete a manual transfer first, and there is no need to manually transfer the previous two years to get it working either. Two scheduled tasks get created when you install the Discover service and they are set to run at 01:00hrs every day. Capita's advice though is to stagger these tasks (despite every one of their installs, be it manual or via SOLUS3, setting both tasks to run at 01:00) so I amend the Discover Group Sync task to run at 00:01hrs. If however permissions have not been granted to the network service correctly by the service installer, transfers may not work. It's always a good idea to run a manual transfer of the current year after Discover has been installed. If it fails, you know you have problems.
  23. Hahaha! Game Boy and Game Boy colour still outsold the XBox!
  24. Loved Futurama Classic (S01-S04) but the newer ones had lost the spark somehow. I enjoyed watching them but found they were not as "rewatchable" as the originals. The "Straight to DVD" specials were rather good though! I've also heard rumours (from completely unreliable sources) that Fry is going to be killed off in the final Ep.
