Yes it is - although the windows calculation is rubbish. You best bet is to start the copy off and time how long it takes. What are you transferring to/from - what path does it go i.e Server x - switch - fibre/copper/ switch - server Y as you will need to ensure all is running at 1Gbs (bear in mind the MAX throughput on that is only 120MBs)

Then I guess its uni-casting as i think you have to specify Multicasting in WDS. The difference between them is Uni-casting is more direct and ok for a couple of machines i.e each packet is sent to each machine receive the image multi-casting it broadcasts the packets to the entire lan and its up to a machine to accept them if it is part of the process.

The other thing with Avaya is they have no upgrade path i.e if you buy an IP office 500 and they bring out a new range it tends to be you have to buy everything new i.e new phones etc you can't just update the backend.

What imaging software are you using? How many machines are you trying to image too?

Although its a shared server the server looks at the host headers (i.e what the browser says its looking for e.g http://www.dn.com) and displays the correct website. What you may what to check is that your external doesn't point to a CName as this could mean that IP is likely to change (and they would change the cname) then you cannot resolve your website. Might not be the case but could be and any other users looking in the future.

echo that - I made a 70 user phone system using FreePBX and 35 Yealink T20P and 35 Yealink T28P. I paid £52 per T20P and ~£80 per T28P which is roughly £4600, I then used 10 x SIP trunks out to the internet from @Millgate running on an old DL120 (later moved to a DL380G4 which there is one on Ebay for £40) or you could run it as a VM. I setup all of it on less the 5k and reduced ongoing costs by 60%. Splicecom I was quoted 20K for, Avaya 22K and NEC 29k. Out of those three - Splicecom was the shiney one, Avaya was the robust it'll just work, and NEC the bells and whistles that nobody really needed. For what my school wanted at the time the FreePBX worked (auto attendant, Voicemail, ease of use).

There "Shouldn't be" in that its a standard and vlans should work across any switching manufacture/model but in my experience HP and Netgears haven't got on. If they are stacked and the top one manageable you probably manage the rest from it.

Yes in theory you should, as long as the netgears are fully manageable and support them, although i have seen slight issues with this before.

An MR12 would handle normal web browsing but its single radio and limited to 300mbs, I've had an MR12 here against an MR16 (dual radio 600mbs) and the MR12 struggles if you have more then about 10 devices it struggles with domain logins and profiles.

With regards to wireless costs for Wireless a Meraki Solution costs are roughly ~£500 per AP (MR16) with the enterprise cloud license (for the cloud controller/support) ~£100 per year per ap, so 25 would be circa 2.5k for 25. You may find they do educational discounts but I am not looked at that yet as not been required to. Compare that with the Meru system its slightly cheaper, the benefits of the Meraki system is that all updates to the controller and access points happen automatically and the web interface is so easy to understand compared to others i have used! Meraki So 25 x 500 = ~12500 + 3 x £2500 = 20k Meru (on rough pricing above). 1 x controller = 7k + 25 * 450 = 11250 + 3k for support = 21250

I'm fairly sure with EES you are covered for remote access to files etc. HAP+ works for files only, if you want to look at something more robust/flexible then you could look towards an SSL appliance such as as the Juniper SA2500, but these cost little bit (could of k). With regards to the comment about finding out what the staff want. At the end of the day you can implement loads and loads of technical stuff which look brilliant and is shiney but if the staff/students don't actually use it, its pretty pointless and a waste of money. You could implement something like a homework tracker, I know my last school i worked at have built a web application which allows staff students to view, set homework via a web interface that links with AD and your MIS (Mainly Sims, but have also done Serco I beleive). @DaveP uses it at his place. Personally I would sit down with the department heads and see what would help them. For example Clickview might be nice but if it doesn't work for them. Meet with them, maybe the member of SLT in charge of IT and see what they want to teach and how things can be adapted to make that happen. Some of the ideas you will have to write off but there may be ideas which you can easily implement maybe even free that will help a single department out greatly. For example when i did it we spent time and converted all of MFL's tapes, cd's to MP3 and stored them accesible from the network. It meant they didn't have to constanstly search around for tapes etcs. little things for individual departments may may for the whole school but if you did one for each department it could well help T & L greatly.

MR12 would be underpowered for what they want. MR16 at Least IMHO And Another vote for Meraki, will be interesting to see how many people pay more attention to it now they have been bought by Cisco. I've been using them for the last 8 months and been flawless.

You don't need the sql agent. You can simple schedule a task within sql to backup the data, you can then backup these backup files.

Memory is expected to be that high, disk usage seems to be rather alot. How are the disks attached to the server? I.e Local storage ISCSI Fiber Channel?
