Fellow EduGeeks, I am in the market for a new webfilter and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions. We currently use Lightspeed but have found a couple of small bits we don't like such as P2P being either on or off with nothing in between. I need the filter to be able to do the following: Filter two\three seperate LAN connections Allow schedule for access at 1 minute increments Give better control over P2P such as blocking Hotspot Shield but allowing P2P gaming Allow authenitaction for BYOD devices We have tried iBoss but have found that we can only scedule half hour slots. We have for sale twelve of the above drives. Bought for a project but now no longer needed. Purchased approximately a month ago. These are from the WD Enterprise class of drive and all come with a 5 year warranty. Looking for £200 per drive.

I was thinking there might be some issues. The Netgears are stacked but I'm pretty sure the top one is managed. I'd only be looking at a few ports on the academic network.

Hi Guys, We currently have two networks within the school, one for in school and one in the boarding houses. Now, we would like to get the school network onto the boarding house switches. The school network switches are HP 2510G and the students are on Netgear 7 series generally. With VLANs being an 802. protocol, are you able to do VLANS between these brands ? Thanks.

Hi Guys, I'm looking for some suggestions for some decent power monitoring/control software to allow me to centrally control the PC's within our school. We are a boarding school and so have staff and pupils working late so want to be able to control different groups of computer with different policies. Looked at Impero but didn't really find it suitable as we don't want all the other features. Any suggestions? Thanks.
