I would look for ones which go to sleep with no input I know that some LG's do this. I have my HP USFF machines set to shutdown at 6pm and wake up at 8am (via WOL) the TV then went to sleep while the PC is off.

You just need to have a trusted cert from the DC's locally and provide the auth for windows 7 do you not? Or the easier way around is allow anybody to connect into a walled garden and only then allow access via logging in through a spashpage.

@mdench I tried to convince somebody we should do this and got told it was pointless!! The way I now asset tag is linked to support calls also and our monitoring software. We can pull off reports of the most troublesome kit (or customer/user normally)

I agree with this - technically as it uses IE proxy they shouldn't be able to change this and it shouldn't affect them although compatibility issues could be had.

If its a security concern you can tie down the access to the Meraki dashboard in a variety of ways - via IP or setup Google Authenticator which is free and can essentially do the equivilent of RSA keys.

It installs into the profile not onto the program files etc My old hack around it was to setup in the AV software to auto delete anything called chrome.exe

Being a little bit young I have no experience what so ever of what to look for! Essentially I am looking for a Vinyl player which I can output via RCA to a Amp and speaker system which is already in place. Ideally with the ability to plug directly into a computer to transfer off but to be honest an RCA to Jack cable into the microphone socket and capture using Audacity should be easy enough to do. Budget really £50/60 as i am not looking for anything too wizzy and will probably rarely get used!

Hmm that was my customer which went down - full MPLS/VPLS circuit at around 50 sites offline! Reading that corix.net report seems Enta buggered up big time and got disconnected. I noticed they went offline at 6:04pm, came back up again at 8:03 then down at 8:12 and backup finally around 8:26.

I think @Millgate sells some sort of touchscreen solution which does this. Although to be honest as long as Casio keep there 5 year warranty for Education going I can't see the point (yet) of moving away from the traditional IWB/Projector in the generic classroom IMHO and I think the screens are not cheap.

I have to say this does actually sound like quite a good idea - perhaps not 100% feasible but a good idea. In my opinion I think it will be that each desk simple have a keyboard,mouse, monitor and a docking station - which has a universal connector. Newer modern devices whether it be a mobile, tablet, laptop whatever can be plugged in and accessed like a full desktop - then business/education apps are delivered from the core via VDI/RDS or something like VMware Mirage.
