  1. I prefer to use WPAD to automatically specify the proxy. Googling WPAD I'm sure will return some help with setting this up.
  2. cheers dude!
  3. What guide do you recommend for setting this up?
  4. @ frankybaloney - ?? - He is still going to require them to login to other resource around site? Disabling the computer/user accounts will lock the resource/user out of the network altogether?
  5. No, Deny Logon Locally doesn't Deny or Allow OU's. This works on Users or Security Groups. In this case it will Deny Logon Locally to certain Users/Security Groups that you specify.
  6. @ ArchersIT - I use this method also. I prefer this as you can use Windows Security Groups.
  7. Under the 'Users' group in 'Local Users and Groups' remove the following, 'Domain Users', 'Authenticated Users' and 'Interactive'. Your setup may be different and include other groups. However, only you will know what your Security Groups/Users are doing in the 'Users' group.
  8. Do you have W2K3 network? If so, using AD is one way, using Account > Log on to. This is tidious to setup though. I prefer to use Windows Security Groups and add members in that I wish to be able to use the machine(s). Then it is a matter of assigning in Computer Management. Furthermore, if it's only one or two machines you could simply edit the User section of Local Users and Groups, remove the 'Domain Users' and such like, add only the required staff and everyone else will recieve a 'You cannot logon interactively' message, or something similar.
  9. @ Christian Galbally - give that a shot mate...
  10. There goes my 2GB BECTA FITS on a Stick USB pen drive!
  11. When creating a block booking when you select Week A it'll always appear on the weeks specified in the Week A dates. Likewise for Week B. When staff book they're booking one period, they're not creating a block booking. Hope that helps.
  12. How much was this to implement?
  13. In the booking system you can setup weeks, go to Booking System > Admin > Set UP > Block Bookings Week Templates Hope that helps.
  14. I've emailed my boss explaining that we should be adopt something like that here!
  15. I'm there Saturday - Did alright on the freebies last year, again was on a Saturday. Hopefully I'll do as well as last year!!
  16. We run a two week timetable too, how do you mean duplicate? As for the days and periods they're completly customizable, via the GUI or database.
  17. 1.6 Suzuki Vitara - can't see anybody else driving one on this thread though!
  18. @ SYNACK - thanks for that, I didn't realise it was possible. It isn't that important - nothing that can't be burnt again anyhow.
  19. Thanks for your responses, sadly I have tried it in several drives, cleaned the CD and tried the software approach. All return poor results, after cleaning the CD it does look like it has a very small dot of damage. Looks as though I've lost the data on this one! Thanks everyone for your input.
  20. Evening all, I have been receiving the following error when trying to copy some files off of a CD. Error Copying File or Folder Cannot copy filename: Data error (cyclic redundancy check). Google tells me this is a corrupt file, damaged media or hardware fault. I have tried the disc in another drive to receive the error again on the same file. I am assuming this is a corrupt file that's my problem. Google recommended I use a tool to recover the file; the program it recommended was http://www.softwarepatch.com/software/cd-recovery.html which is free for personal use. I've not used any file recovery software extensively before, does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance!
  21. @ Domino - I did look into this system before hand; I forget now why it didn't fit our needs completely, maybe two week timetable? Perhaps split days, whereby upper school and lower school have different times for different periods. Not totally sure, but there was a good reason why that wasn't quite ideal. Cheers
  22. Just to follow up, I'm now getting this message once IIS is restarted. Response object error 'ASP 0156 : 80004005' Header Error /active2/bookingsystem/start/Settings.asp, line 1093 The HTTP headers are already written to the client browser. Any HTTP header modifications must be made before writing page content.
  23. Sorry to drag up an old thread, I have a slight issue with the system constantly falling over. When any changes are made to the system it causes IIS to fall over, requiring a manual stop and start of IIS.
  24. I've used this program for a while, it's truly brilliant for keeping the little charmers home directories free of movie files!
