  1. I hate it when xmas falls on a weekend as we have to take more out of our leave entitlement. Best when it falls midweek.
  2. Saying this just makes others want to see it. it does me anyway.
  3. If not it should be. Falls under the same catagory as cupboardy
  4. Is it specifically Lithium you need?
  5. I've been there and done that before. Never on a server but I've tried to ipconfig /release on a client whilst RD'd to it.
  6. A simple question really. I think I know the answer but I just want to make sure. Every classroom in school has promethean hardware and as such Activ Primary. Are teachers allowed to take a copy home to use on their home PCs for planning purposes? Thanks, Dan
  7. Thanks guys, I was hopefully trying to get it to display as a field on the register (as you can with DOB and behaviour etc.) I'll have a play around and go with the best I can come up with. Thanks again, Dan
  8. Am I correct in thinking this would still only appear on the student details page, rather than within register view? Thanks, Dan
  9. Hi All, I agree with the confidentiality issue. I'll explain further. What we are looking for doesn't have to be full medical notes or even pull through from that section. We are after some sort of note function that can attach to a student (similar to the comment function on a register mark) that Office staff could add that simply says 'Nut allergy' etc. Thanks, Dan
  10. Hi, Class Teachers can views medical notes if going into student details. But I agree with you on the confidential issue. Thanks, Dan
  11. Hi all, I've been asked if there is any way to display students medical notes on a per class basis. For example in paper registers we used to have a sheet of paper with a list of students with serious medical conditions and allergies. Now we use SIMS we are wanting something similar. All our students’ medical notes are stored within SIMS and accessible by going into each student individually. Does anyone know of a better way of displaying these? Maybe display them within the register view. I haven't used SIMS for long so I’m not sure where to look. Thanks, Dan
  12. 25.132741228718345907701147066236?
  13. Sorry I should have mentioned, it's a windows based forum.
  14. Fair enough. I guess i'll let the comments on the other forum slide.
  15. I'm glad these are the views of IT Professionals. My Views are exactly the same and I would never run a PC (work or home) without an antivirus or firewall. The reason I asked this question is because on a local forum related to computers/tech (but aimed at home users) people 'claiming' to be clued up in IT are offering the advice to home users not to run antiviruses or firewalls as they slow your computer down and you don't really need them. When I pointed this out otherwise I got shouted down for doing so. I just simply wanted to make sure I was correct. Thanks, Dan
  16. As the title suggests really. Do you? If so why and if not, why not? I'm just after peoples opinions. Thanks, Dan

  21. ARGH! I thought I was onto a winning formula there.
  22. I'd just like to state that most of my rep, all 10 of it, has been built up from useful comments. Rep fishing is something I've just thought of.
  23. Just trying out a new sport, rep fishing. Big up the suppliers and see how much rep you get in an hour.
