[ipad] Help on installing apps to multiple iPads
Boon72 replied to Vellocet's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
there is an Apple tool called Apple configurator that can be used to setup iPads and restrict them etc but it is Mac only so far as far as i'm aware -
a school i had similar issue at, had a dedicated screen for them to see in the class.

when i set mine up we just had to make sure that the auto discovery had all the right info in it, once that was done i just joined from the email address

the imovie issue is because your using the network, create a folder in the root of the hard drive called imovie events and give permission to everyone read & write, this will then allow imovie to use the folder as a scratch area. do you use WGM to control the proxy? we do and dont have issues

Slow Login/Logout on AD/OD Network + Intermittent Login Errors..
Boon72 replied to martin_hannah's topic in Mac
we had this kind of issue with login and it's mostly to do with time, the Apples dont like to be out to much from the servers etc -
do you have a local CLC you could try?
-
if you plan to use iMovie you'll need to use a local folder as a local storage area, the easiest way is to create a a folder called 'iMovie Events' in the root folder with RW permissions for everyone, if you have ARD then use the copy function to pass it to all your machines (making sure you use the set ownership to - inherit & place in root folder)
-
you need to make sure the autodiscover is setup correctly too otherwise the add account won't work. in the advanced section of the add account i have the following https://my.server.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx

i had this issue last year and the answer is to have a local 'iMovie Events' folder with permissions for everyone on each machine, this can be done through ARD as stated before.

i use Apple Remote Desktop to do most of the admin tasks like that.
