Also - If that's the bundle that's making it noisey - is it the case fan - if so what size is it? Or is it the PSU fan - if so - buy a quieter psu, or is it the HSF one - if so check it's proeprly seated, if the cpu is heating up too much it'll increase the fan speed, if it's still loud, check out something along the lines of a Zalaman offering, and put a huge (if space allows) heatsink on it, with a fan that hardly needs to spin. If it's a case fan Yate-Loons are good as owen1987 mentioned, or Nexus, though if you find a guide on how to 7volt a Yate-Loon fan (you just need to swap some of the cables over) then you basically have yourself a Nexus... quietpc are pretty decent for silent things, including a silent Zalman psu which I thought was amazing when I had one. From point 2 in the article you linked, if they aren't in the domain you lose 'the security advantages' and it makes having multiple administers more laborious, plus you don't get all the SCVMM advangtages. RwD

Ahh I've only just got this to work. If it helps I endedup ignoring every last instruction of theirs, installing it from the MSI, but stating in CC3 that it wasn't an MSI. You also need MSXML6.0 on client machines (to install the 'administrator' software). Our 'server' for this is actually my desktop, writing to a shared area, which had to be made so accessible I'd be willing to bet you lot could get onto it as well... Plus three phonecalls to them. More useful info: when we installed it on a new 'server' after an upgrade, we had to delete the reg key entry for the Centre ID to get it to auth properly. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Promissor > ESMServer > CenterID set to 0, restart ESM. It should then pull down a new value. Obviously this might break everything, and I'd make a backup first but it worked for us. RwD

What limit? We're on 650 stations across 2 curriculum servers (both over 3 years old) with no issues... As for the age - we've got older workstations than that, when they slow up, we rebuild them. Try grabbing a couple of random pcs from accross the site and rebuilding them, see if that speeds them up. Tbh - until you reach the login screen it's mostly the PC itself, rather than the server having to do anything. RwD

If you're going to bin them - might be worth ripping them apart and having a go at cleaning them yourself - we've done this with a few and as long as you're careful and don't un-align the prism they usually go back fine... just use lots of hand drawn diagrams and note which direction all the filters face... Also backup to WHS here - love the automation and the easy integration, tho I've yet to work out how to back up the OS disk of my WHS, so far that's the only point of failure I can find (aside from house fires etc) RwD

Never used one, I don't usually leave anything plugged in either, I just don't do the Family Guy onesie-static-suit thing, make balloon animals or build machines near Van Der Graff generators. Usually tap the case periodically throughout any build though, in 6 years I've killed presicely 0 items due to static. Older PC kit is more sensitive to it by a long way (pre-socket A days...), modern stuff is a lot more resiliant. RwD

Personally as they're remarkably similar (though the LG has an extra HDMI port over the Toshiba) I'd have a gander down to your local white goods store and look at the picture quality on both, plus any personal preference on styling and how it fits into your home. congrads on the win! Personal preference I'd go for the LG RwD
