I'd say they're pretty equal. What's the difference cost wise, or are they identical? If not, go whichever is cheaper. If they are, I'd suggest the *edit* 5750 *edit* might have a tiny bit more power...

Might be my monitor here but the last two look marginally over-exposed, might want to try knocking it down slightly... My next objects being eye'd up are a 430EXii Flash gun, some cactus triggers, and an 85mm f/1.8 ... damn expensive hobby!

at work... a 22" widescreen and a 19" 4:3, though I'd prefer two 22's. At home (well, when I have them all set up eg: while doing my dissertation) two 24" Dells, a 17" AG Neovo, a 12" touchscreen for music, and a 170" Projector with my work outline... plus the 15" laptop, it still wasn't enough. Given the choice I'd go with more monitors over size, for a single monitor I couldn't go less than 24"

Lighting may be a problem... entrance and exit might be quite funky though. Solar power? Go really eco-friendly?

Under guardian > filtering > policy are the 'custom blocked content' settings applied to the relevant groups correctly - or have you got something global set? eg we have; group: students filter: Custom Student blocked Time: always Action: Block

Might be an obvious suggestion - but could you not taxi it home? (maybe get a lift there from a mate to reduce costs?) And I feel for you, not feeling like you've got a home, and it's more just a house, is never good. hope you get something sorted out soon mate - whatever that requires. And much as your girlfriend loves the place, I'm sure she cares for you more, and would love somewhere else just as much, perhaps more so if it ment you were happy too...

I'll throw in an echo of what most people have said really: The best performance requires a fair few hard drives. Have a look for some guides on how to properly set photoshop up for different drive use, it can make a huge difference. I'd be tempted to grab some small (40gb?) SSDs, and use one as the OS, one as the scratch, and one as the 'working' drive, then use a larger SATA drive to export finished work onto. Bit-tech have some good SSD reviews. An Intel M-Series may offer more performance than two smaller drives... I would be tempted to sell the OCZ and buy 8Gb, batch jobs eat ram, 4Gb will do, but 8Gb may be a useful investment in the future, depends on the sort of work shes doing. If you bought 2*2Gb sticks, and it's a high end board, you should be able find a 2*2Gb matching set and throw that in to increase the ram if needed (I wouldn't worry about matching manufacturer, just speed, timings, and voltages. And yes - buy a decent monitor. IPS is better as people have already covered.

A-Level Computing, BSc Computer Networking + Security, have completed all the CCNA stuff and half of the CCNP stuff as part of my degree but never did the exams - hoping to rectify that at some point! Also starting out studying Microsofty stuff... + 1 years experience of actually working, a few years of part time experience, and about 8 years of geekery in hobby form!

At the moment (thanks to a friend borrowing and losing mine - it's got a "mymemory.com" 8Gb card.. it's class 6 but only just scrapes through. If you're looking at doing a lot of continous shooting - have a look for the higher spec SanDisk Extremes (20 and 30mb/s) which makes it roughly the same speed as a class 10 card. I'm looking at grabbing a pair of 8Gb for gigs...

Looked into this before and I believe they don't have the PJL stuff onboard so you can't force messages sadly. Everything above them (range wise) does though. I'm impressed by some of the commitment here!

If you can - try and blag the accessories with it too (however cheap you find it) the CF cards and a bag can add up the price significantly...

Personally with that budget I'd save up another £30, and then hit ebay for a second hand SLR. It'll last you longer in terms of its features, and from the sounds of it you won't get the easy of manual control you want from one of the Fuji type cameras. I'm a Canon shooter - so I don't know the Nikon examples, but a 350d with kit lens goes for under £200 on ebay. I'm sure there's a Nikon equivalent at that price.

Hi, The vodafone advert appearing when you use the iSpy feature plays a rather loud dialing noise when moused over - I wouldn't call it innapropriate, but it's rather annoying when you're dealing with people / audio and it keeps going off as you flick your mouse round the screen...

In a shop any sticker price is 'an invitation to treat' meaning it's your offer of a price they can offer you for the goods - so shops don't have to sell you the item. I've spent many hours in a previous life arguing with customers whos second aunts cousins best friend was a lawyer, and they knew better than the vast legal department my previous employer weilded. On the web rules are the same - usually they offer you a refund of any monies paid, or the chance to pay the difference... Only catch being they can't charge you more after they've dispatched it I believe.

Indeed - forgot to mention spotify will cache up to 3,333 tracks for offline play on a mobile device... all of which can be changed over whenever you like at the click of a button. bit worried I'm starting to sound like a Spotify salesman... oops!
