I moved from Aerohive to Meraki and I think the systems are pretty comparable in terms of configuration and setup. I would argue that Meraki is simpler to use, easier to get traffic information and do something about it with group policies. However, I don't believe Meraki can generate the PPSK keys in the same way that Aerohive can, so you'll need to change how your Post-16 connects (most likely setup a self sign in portal) and you can redirect Guests to a webpage with your certs on as required.

I suspected as much, but fingers crossed it reaches our shores sooner or later!

Had a similar problem here with a few machines. In our case, I believe it's a mapped drive that's causing the issue; once I disconnected the laptop from the wireless, everything ran as normal. Unmapped all the drives and reconnected, everything normal. Reconnected each drive one by one and all working as expected. I've removed an unnecessary mapped drive, and fingers crossed that solves the problem going forward...

Completely agree, with the cast of characters from previous seasons, and the introduction of new ones (who are excellent!) in this season, I was worried it was going to get bloated, but they've managed to keep it well paced. Wish we could binge it, but having to ration to one episode a night!

Really enjoying Stranger Things season 4, just be aware that each episode is movie length!

*sigh* The email sent to us from their technical support said to whitelist *.e-marker.co.uk having checked the Smoothwall logs, this is incorrect, instead whitelist *emarker.co.uk instead. You may also want to whitelist ste2pco005.blob.core.windows.net/clickonce/e2-p-005/e-marker2.application as that is where the application downloads from. Having done the above, the software now works on a teacher account absolutely fine. I'll double check with another teacher account after school.

Slightly odd one, but due to it's nature, difficult to Google. Essentially, whenever any member of staff clicks the share button on a Onenote for Windows 10 onenote on their laptop, the share window is really zoomed in. It must be a scaling issue, because if I do the same on an external monitor, it's show absolutely fine. There is a work around (hold ctrl and use the mouse wheel to zoom out), but I wondered if anyone else had the same or similar issue, and knew how to resolve it?

Worked for me when I tethered another teacher's laptop to my phone, so I'm presuming it could be a Firewall issue as well. If anyone happens to know the IP address ranges e-marker use, that would be very helpful! That said, likelihood is that they'll do the work from home anyhow.

It could be the school firewall,their support gave a URL to whitelist, which I've put in place, but the Firewall requires a list of IP addresses, which they didn't supply. I should have tethered to my phone, but they'll give it a go from home to see if that works.

To be fair, movie ratings seem to have changed a fair bit over the past few years. There have been a few films with 15 ratings that I'm amazed aren't 18. But then, do people pay attention to this anymore once their kids are teenagers? Back on topic, watched Ghostbusters: Afterlife (Sky) Generally enjoyed it; very nostalgic, and a little slow paced, but with it's heart in the right place. Would recommend.

Thanks all. My solution for now is to get the parent to sign a consent form giving permission for the device to allow personal accounts to be signed in outside school hours. The student then signs in with their Gmail account, which should be a 'child' account in the Google Family, which gives the parent the control they're after. Interestingly, when I tested this with my child's account, it asked if I wanted to add an education account during sign in. I didn't try this, but I wonder if that's a possible solution...

However, it would be nice to be able to offer parents a solution. And forgive the stupid question, but idP? I presume not International Drivers Permit

Apologies for the slight necro raising, but I'm getting a few requests from parents for options to control their child's Chromebook. Is there anyway of getting Family Link to work with school education accounts and parental gmail accounts? Or should I be looking at another solution?

Having had this issue for literally a decade, I would highly recommend shifting to Exam Write Pad instead!

I tend to run ping 8.8.8.8 -t and check the time. If it starts averaging over 20/30ms then I know our broadband is slowing down, if it hits triple digits everyone will know about it!

I've given up trying to find keyboards or mice that students won't wreck. Instead I just buy the cheapest sets in bulk and replace as necessary. That said, I like this kit, easy to take the keys off, but also easier to fix. I thought the nicer design would make the kids appreciate it, so they wouldn't break it. How very naive of me
