The Amazing Maurice (Sky) A film version of one of Terry Pratchett's more child friendly books; a play on the Pied Piper story with typical Pratchett twists and turns. A few things; firstly I didn't finish reading the book as my daughter decided she didn't like me reading it (she was only 2 or so at the time) and secondly said daughter requested various snacks throughout, so I didn't manage to quite watch all of it. That said, I did enjoy it, especially the nods to the wider Discworld universe in the background and other easter eggs. Thought the voice acting was excellent, and the yarn spins through at a good rate, keeping the family entertained throughout. I doubt the daughter (4) will be demanding a rewatch any time soon, but one to consider if you're stuck as a family for something to watch.

May or may not help, but I had to install the Windows English (UK) Language pack before translate would start working.

Do you know which step proved the stumbling block? Whilst it's a bit of a hack, I have a waffle icon with the school's icon that, effectively, points to the school website. That said, I do agree that a bookmark would be a sensible work around.

If it's slow for an individual user, I have found that clearing the browser cache has improved performance.

It does look like it can cope with 1022 devices, potentially up to 3066 (Larger Subnets - up to 1022 IPs per subnet (LAN1-3) - New!) so as long as it's configured correctly, that shouldn't be a problem.

So it sounds like the Draytek router is also your DHCP server, and as such, likely has a hard limit of how many devices it can support at any given time that you may be reaching. It could also be that the second switch that died ran the WiFi for the other half of the building, and had vLans setup on the ports for the APs. When your colleague moved the cables to the 1st switch, the ports he connected to them most likely don't have the vLans setup, which is why the WiFi is no longer working. This is assuming that vLans are setup of course. I'm also assuming that both switches are PoE.

SIMS does, but it's an added extra called InTouch. When we were a SIMS school, we quite liked it, but IIRC it isn't cheap.

Is it just Mobility Print, or do you have Papercut NG/MG on your print server?

I use Bromcom to sync up Teams classes overnight, and generally speaking it works exactly as intended. The issue I'm having is that when students change class they occasionally either: Don't get pulled from the old class onenote (not a big issue) Don't get added to their new class onenote (a bigger deal) I can see that they have been made a member of the Team, so I don't think it's an issue with the Bromcom sync. But I've tried: Removing them from the team and readding them Removing them from the group on the admin console and readding Opening up the Class Onenote in a browser rather than the app These steps have solved issues in the past, but not this time. I can't get this student to be added to the Class Onenote for the Team she's a member of and I'm out of ideas. Anyone else had something similar with a solution?

Thanks for that, I'll make that change. I've got my DCs set as both Conditional DNS Forwarders and Static DNS Hosts. Wondering if I should remove them as static DNS hosts...

Sorry to jump on this thread, but on the DNS settings, should each reverse lookup zone be added to the domain area? Also, should anything be set as a Static DNS host?

1. Log into the Google Admin Console 2. Click on Apps – Web and mobile apps 3. Add app – Add custom SAML app 4. Give a name, description and upload an icon – Click Continue 5. The next page is setting up Single Sign On, I believe you can just leave it as the defaults and click continue 6. Enter the ACS URL (The URL of the site you want to add) and the Entity ID (Can be anything) Also add the site URL as the Start URL. Leave the rest as default. Click Continue 7. The final page is around Google Directory mapping and Group Memberships that can be left to the defaults – Click Finish 8. The ‘App’ details screen will then open a. Check the certificate expiry date is in the future i. If not, click on the certificate, then Manage Certificates ii. Click Add certificate and it should generate a new certificate to use iii. Assign the new certificate to the app b. It won’t be assigned to anyone as default, so click on OFF for everyone c. Using the organisational unit display to the left, find the users you want to assign the icon to (I would suggest a test user to begin with!) then turn it ON for Everyone in that ou There are bits of this method I don’t like, as I’m not sure what’s going on with steps 5 and 6, but it seems you can fudge past them to get the desired result (an icon in the waffle that takes you to a designated URL).

Is it possible to add a link to a Google Site, such as a school intranet page?

I believe I've seen this in another school, but I can't work it out. Is there a way of adding custom URLs to the Google Waffle or Dashboard for students? Google answers hints that it's possible but doesn't actually show you how to do it.

Suspect mine is a separate issue, it effects everyone across the site until the Smoothwall is reset. Rather than hijack your thread I'll bow out!

Sounds similar to an issue I'm having with our new S9. I don't have a solution (I'm rebooting our Smoothwall when this occurs) and I'm not sure if the issue here is an internal network issue, but interesting that someone else is experiencing problems. I'll have to give the ipconfig /release /renew a try if it happens again here.

There something odd going on with Spanning Tree and Smoothwall. I have two connections to our local network, one for computers, the other for our VoIP system and PBX. At 09:00 and 10:00, both today and yesterday, both ports were blocked by STP on my Core Switch, causing major headaches! Rebooting the Smoothwall seems to resolve the issue; but doesn't tell me why it's happened. This wasn't an issue before we swapped to the S9. I've checked the config of the Core Switch, and the ports are on separate vLans, no tagging or untagging between the two (indeed ,they are forbidden from talking to each other) so I don't think it's an issue from the switch point of view. I recall we had issues resetting up the config on the new S9 for the VoIP system, and made some changes removing unnecessary firewall rules, but maybe we took out something that should have stayed in. What's infuriating is that it only happens at certain times, and it can go a week without rearing its head, so you think you've solved it!

Interesting, thanks for that. I don't think I have the same issue (I've only one line in for start!) and the issue is the Smoothwall complains that the line gateway on that line is down and stops web traffic, despite the fact I can still ping 8.8.8.8. Issue resolves after a soft reset. Found a KB that suggested turning off Connection Monitoring when running a single line, so I'm trying that.

Definitely, absolutely loved that machine. I was probably too young to notice how rubbish it was (especially when compared to the PS1 and N64) but some of my favorite gaming memories are from that console!

Was this solved @timbo343? My new S9 box has failed twice today with the Gateway going down requiring a soft reboot to solve and I'm wondering if it's a similar issue. No option to update to Maiden 4 for me though.

One thing that struck me whilst reading this, have you checked your DHCP scopes aren't running out of IP addresses?

Anyone else having issues using BT DNS Servers this morning (194.73.82.242 and 194.72.6.57)? Had to move over to using Google DNS instead.
