Hi Anyone know how enable global search in moodle 2.3 ? i know its been removed, i was wondering if i could just uncomment a line somewhere as i want to test what something looks like with global search enabled.?

I set "enable standards mode in ie for local intranet zone" in group policy on a user policy applied to the students and it worked cheers witch.

its compatibility mode in IE causing it. the button to turn it on / off doesn't appear for students though, so i will have to hunt through GPO's. if you (or anyone else) knows how to force it off for a specific site that would be handy. I'm sure i could doctype tag the begining of the PHP file but that would probably break every upgrade.

Hi we have a problem with PCounter and HPCP2025 printers. The jobs from students all ways end up being letter, initially pcounter was deleting the job and logging it as rejected. So we enabled letter as a paper type on the pcounter properties now the job appears to print, it even deducts from the users balance but does not print, it just dissappears. Staff printing is okay. The paper size gets sent as A4? if we change the printer from the pcounter port and revert it back to standard tcp/ip port it prints as a student. So i believe pcounter is modifiying the job in some way before it reaches the printer? Any Ideas?

(Will double check all these details tomorrow) 5 Laptop Trolleys, holds 30 laptops (i think). no laptops included. there is a socket in each bay to plugin the laptop charger which is powered by the trolley, the trolley comes with its own lead. the trolley do lock and we do have keys. I think one may not unlock/lock on one side but you can still unlock with the catch on the inside and lock the other side with a key. we don't even have wireless anymore so i don't see use buying a 150 laptops anytime soon. We are in west sussex (Crawley) so maybe you were about to stump up a couple of G's for a laptop trolley and might want a bargain and be nearby? (Yes i will split them, you don't need to take all 5. Although you probably would have to provide transport)

@oxide54 - With the reporting engine you can set where it goes. tbh not really bothered the program is actually running commandreporter.exe so that works fine, its just irritating when try to design the report as you then have to quit and restart sims "as administrator"

i was kind of hoping something like this would work

i really don't use sims much! when i run a csv report it trys to make it in the root of C:\ any way to make this more sensible

@matt40k it is for importing, into my own program. @clareq no, but i can use last years data for testing my program and then just run it when the school is promoted.

No admin people in school until next week .... How do i see what classes a student is in? i'm trying to basically work out who their ICT teacher is from a report i'm importing into a program i wrote to create the user accounts. AD Accounts / exchange accounts create folder.. all those bits work and are done. i just don't know much about sims and what to add to the report?

something weird with the DVI. flashed the IME firmware BIOS was already done. and now it won't let you f10 to bios when display port is plugged in. i've turned off power management everywhere, bios/ control panel especially for HD. see how i get on, it wasn't even booting up with hd quite a few times so i unplugged the cd rom drive as I'm not convinced the PSU's are really specced for 2 hd's and a cdrom (SFF)

anyone had the following issues with theses pc's HP Pro 6200?? 1. Won't boot with DisplayPort to DVI Adapter Plugged In. Hangs at PXE stage 2. Second Hard Disk Disappears randomly while your in the middle of using the machine (Might be windows 7 related rather than hardware??)

any idea how much they cost? saw a demo of one, (not in much detail tho) they did look nice.

thats a good option as it, does afford you a lot of control. down sides are cost, interms of licensing / server hardware. Depends on your current setup/use of TS

Anyone got any good info on blocking TOR? given its potential uses for photographic and video content as well substance supply i would think it would probably be prudent to block.
