  2. hi who is using m24/7 as an ISP anyone like to give me their experiences here or pm, and if you have 10 minutes free to speak to me on the phone i would appreciate it. i'm interesting to see how it is going for you if you are using them, your experience of their support. reliability etc.
  3. aren't they open source and in the kernel ?
  4. sounds stupid, but how about vmware convertor to vmdk and then vmdk to vhd
  5. well i apologize for underestimating your skill set but the only things you've stated towards solving the problem yourself aren't exactly detailed or numerous. and maybe change your name
  6. does sccm 2012 still have the concept of conflicting records? and if so where is it in the console
  7. does it still have conficting records in 2012
  8. Basically i'm testing SCCM 2012 in my lab environment so as i'm adding stuff to the task sequence and re-imaging the machine i'm getting the error "No task sequences available for this computer please ensure that you have at least one task sequence advertised." if i delete the computer and re-import it, it will execute the task sequence, on sccm2007 we were in mixed mode so had to deal with conflicting records, is it something similar to this? where the SMS guid has changed or we have two entries with the same Bios GUID but different SCCM guids? the console in 2012 seems to hide a lot more than 2007 did, so i suspect something is lurking in the database but i can't see it,
  9. actually i think your right, its probably the stupid 02 adsl router i have, i remember it kept re-enabling dhcp all buy itself.
  10. i'm pretty sure things like that are blocked on wsgfl
  11. doesn't that go via their servers
  12. i'm not bothered about generating a certificate thats the least of my worries really, i found rd gateway would stop working randomlly, might set it up back up again and give it another go, i did like it when it worked.
  13. vm's aren't running windows 7, they running server r2 08 oh and did i forget port 80 and 443 only
  14. who thinks that gazette photo was staged to try and make bt feel guilty
  15. Hi I need some kind of VPN solution for home. even something like teamviewer would work, but something that only connects directly to my house and doesn't go through their own servers. suggestions please. basically as i have a lab setup at home it would be nice to be able to remote desktop onto my vm's at home from work so i can spend work time researching rather than home time.!
  16. i'd be doing that the other way round, buying the 10gb switches and then settling for plugging the servers in the edge switches via copper "temporarily" as the servers were much more likely to be replaced before switches
  17. i was wondering myself, would you being connecting servers via 1GB fibre????????
  18. 10K+ (they're redundant)
  19. the more you let people get away with not spending the more they will
  20. they are quite fussy, we've had other problems other than the ones i listed.
  21. we've had weird problems where it is connected to a pc via a splitter box and it turns out to be PSU of the monitor that is also connected to the vga splitter box. we've also found that the casio's don't work with the KVM we were using in one classroom (KVM with 2 splitters allowed 2 pcs and 2 screens and 1 projector) where as the epsons do.
  22. the x670's are nice, i've got a pair of them as core. feature set on them is quite extensive, but like you said probably outside of budget.
  23. si you really should have all your machines re-imageable with virtuallly none to none interaction including this one; in all honesty you've got a few possible causes here. 1. software problem / drivers 2. hardware problem i,e, dodgy nic/mb 3. dodgy cabling you know it can work because the other machines work, given this machine is unique - software/drivers is a possiblity, have you swapped out all the cabling have you tried the hard disk in one of the other machines which would tell you whether it was software / drivers problem. tbh its not rocked science,
  24. i decided to just trust the users in the end. fatal mistake i know !
  25. not completely off topic, but @m25man you're signature reminded of a post a whille back I think you made about a fluke tester, what was the model.
