So whats wrong with this? SELECT DISTINCT PSUEDOFIELD_2 FROM (SELECT FIELD2 AS PSUEDOFIELD_2 FROM TABLE2 WHERE CURRENT=1 UNION ALL SELECT FIELD1 AS PSUEDOFIELD_2 FROM TABLE1) WHERE PSUEDOFIELD_2 IS NOT NULL AND PSUEDOFIELD_2 <> '' AND PSUEDOFIELD_2 <> ' '; this gives me rows? but the PSUEDOFIELD_2 is not distinct ???

multiple servers (spread over hosts) will also spread the load across the HBA's and NIC's.

its really good for read only stuff. like software distribution shares and mandatory profiles. -
in that case you could have used pskill.exe from process tools by sys internals. and run pskill -t \\servername winlogon.exe PsKill

i think its just server 2003 tbh, i've seen it a few times. had to use one the other day. jesus really appreciate how much of an advance 2008 R2 is.

shutdown -f -r -t 0 -m \\SERVERNAME

definitely coming round to your way of thinking richard, the program has evolved from a basic one time tool to something with a decent gui that will be used time and time again, and the next step is definitely to change the SIMS reports to XML. Having said that I don't regret starting with CSV.

how many users do you have? not sure its wise having 2000 shares hanging off a server, can't you share out the root folder like so` and have just one share \\server\users \\server\users\students\_2012\johhnynogood actually you should really be using DFS for this even if you only have one server and don't intend to replicate because it makes migrating the folders so much easier at a later stage. Its much easier done now then later.

ours isn't like that there is structured cabling to every room, and 2 cores and links to edge switches in cabinets which the structured cabling goes to, its just the always want machines where there is no points or 10 machines where there is only 1 point. we do all the IT ourselves, network kit I decided and installed, no installer or anything, but we have to get structured cabling installed by the PFI/FM people in the same we have to get them to supply desks, other wise they refuse to clean them, and everything costs 40x the normal price and takes 100x as long. I can remember working in a normal company, where we had a budget, phoned a guy got a quote and sent him a PO. a week later we had data points installed. why does everything need to be so fricking uneccessarily difficult in education, it is not by accident
-
isn't privatization supposed to introduce competition and in turn value. on sorry this pfi! i totally understand where your coming from, I've had to really put my foot down over daisy chained switches. it really is hard work sometimes though,

seems to have stopped doing it, i went through each of the dialogs and turned on lock and turned it off again, may be bug in vista server (heaven forbid) and registry was set right but the running service had the wrong value in memory or something silly.

not as bad as the old virus that loaded your boot sector into ram erased it from disk and then made you play cards with it to restore the boot sector

Hi Cant track this one down. My TV Computer runs 2008 Server as there is less cack to slow it down(animations etc) (its a P4) it keeps locking itself and i can't work out where/ Power plan turn off display etc. is disabled (set to never) screensaver is off. its quite irritating, more irritating I can't find where the option is!
-
i know they merged with another company, but all they needed to do was rename, read the part about debts owed etc.
-
sort of, the original company went bust. probably to write off debts. and then they've started another one with a very similar name. the registered address's are different as well, but then the registered address was never the unit they actually operate out of.

no comment! check this out though https://www.duedil.com/director/904633667/andrew-james-robert-bause https://www.duedil.com/company/04763450/edutec-limited

what glennda doesn't mention here though is that the person who ordered those machines had already left and glennda went to work with them. and glennda ordered 30 of them before he left.
-
edutec itself "went bust" and started a new company with virtually the same name https://www.duedil.com/director/904633667/andrew-james-robert-bause

messing with the networking stack is okay as long as it works. Does bring back horrible memories of xendesktop and the provisioning server client and the very specific order you had to install the client in.
