I'm fairly certain that the team is working on making deletions easier to achieve. We have been talking to ICO and it is not at all certain that pupil records need to be deleted. Schools have a responsibility to supply references, provide evidence of attendance, connections that a child may have had with supervisors etc. Harrow Boys for example would have to delete loads of paper records and destroy historical evidence - if this interpretation of GDPR persisted!

Sorry @Jahir I don't know the answer to predicted grades. Capita's MyAccount has a forum dedicated to Assessment and you'd get an answer from a practitioner pretty quickly.
-
Some schools created their own Aspects before we created a standard set - they may have chosen to carry on using them. Also there are 1000s of BTEC qualifications that we don't supply Aspects for and schools create Aspects for these. Finally a lot of schools have created their own assessment schemes with different grade descriptors etc. In these circumstances AM is flexible enough to support these schemes. If at all possible though - use the Capita ones; it will save a lot of work.

Use Capita ones wherever possible which should be most of the time. If you do then all of the analysis will drop out with no mapping.

[sims] Sophos Intercept X preventing SIMS.net install on Windows 10
PhilNeal replied to kennysarmy's topic in MIS Systems
@kennysarmy I mentioned your idea of us contacting Sophos to Capita Service Director yesterday. As people are saying this issue is not restricted to Capita's software. -
@jmak - yes it is whizz.com That's really helpful. SSO seems very attractive but agree that other options are necessary.
-
I'm a non-exec at SIMS still. Now working p/t at Whizz Education too.
-
Not SIMS related! How would you prefer your primary pupils to log into systems? At Whizz, where I'm now working p/t, each child is given their own user name & password. I'm wondering if you have ideas on how this could be slicker from a school's perspective - would using AD to automatically log a child in help schools/pupils?
-
I'm not intending to retire at this stage!
-
Have you tried to re-submit the return?
-
Edu-IT I'm no longer at SIMS on a daily basis so hard to be sure. It wasn't part of the thinking in 8 when I was there!!
-
Sorry I've just read the start of the thread - the whole point is they are the same company! BTW the OFT have become the CMA.
-
Aren't they the same company now?
-
@BatchFile - sorry I'm now a non-exec & somewhat removed from day to day operations
-
I suspect you can get the listing but haven't got SIMS to try it out!!
-
If you haven't logged a case I'd do so.

Is one child below the census minimum

@ICT_Pro I'm no longer looking after strategy at Capita so quite hard for me to comment now. I think you can expect a convergence into fewer products - InTouch does email/txt where as the Parent/Student App has been extended to include notifications.
-
Indeed! Complete access to highly sensitive information.
-
I do worry about the privacy aspects of the approach being suggested in this thread. To completely by-pass the permissions system of your MIS seems to be exposing schools to massive risk of breaking GDPR requirements.

@gchivers - I checked with our Teacher App team about this and they think they are aware of your issues through a case submitted today. The app is compatible with iOS 10 and 11 and it sounds like connectivity may be the cause of your issues, which would require the user to sign-in and create a new PIN code. The service desk and Teacher app team will investigate with you to identify the cause of the issue to help get things resolved.
-
You should certainly be able to see attendance marks from before Parent App is initiated. Please raise a case.
