We had 2 students a couple of weeks ago do a similar thing in Gmail. They were told to send an email to all their contacts. Instead they sent an email to everybody in our directory including our cluster primary schools. In Gmail it's far too easy to do, just a select all button does it when choosing a contact. Good old google don't give you the ability to delete using the equivalent of powershell either so we then had the tirade of reply alls lol that was fun

Had this set up at my old place and had no end of trouble until we opted out of the swgfl proxy farms. Double proxying caused untold problems

@sllorep take a look at RADIUS accounting to do this. Your wireless clients will pass along their username and it should then be seamless

I have 2 hyperv hosts with 192gb ram each, 2 ssds in raid 1 for os and a 9tb raid 10 array on each one for vms. They absolutely fly. Decided against clustering with shared storage as just couldn't afford a decent solution

I setup a centos 7 server running virtualmin in my last school to.do all this. Once the virtual host template is setup it's a 1 line command to set up each user

I prefer the thin image. Makes moving OSs much more efficient and no more building images. Takes longer post deploy but I just have a collection that applies crazy short evaluations on deployment scans for new clients newer than 24 hours. That way it does everything much quicker post them gets moved to a more sane Eval after

Correct me if I'm wrong but using this method wouldn't save the bit locker stuff back to ad would it? I see the logic but not really bothered about the extra time to encrypt.

The collection auto populates using a query rule so after a machine does a hardware inv and it finds a tpm module and win 7 ent it deploys a bit locker enable ts. Will post it here tomorrow if you like. Never got it to do it during deploy reliabily

I do this post deploy. Collection that looks for tpm module and compatible operating system. Simple enable bit locker task sequence deployed to this collection

I set up a new clients collection that populates with devices newer that 24 hours and deploy a crazy client policy that does evals every 15 mins to speed up new installs. After that it's just let it do its thing. If you want to speed anything up just force a machine policy update on a collection.

May as well bring it up to 1602 whilst you're at it. You may find removing the pxe role (check box) making a cup of tea, then ticking it again, drinking said tea fixes this. I've had it before where wds doesn't quite go on properly

+1 for upgrading to 1602. Makes following the current branch much less painless as upgraded are done in the console.

Hey @Guru42 I suspect wsus package publisher uses a similar method to scup in which it will need a signing cert which your clients trust. I got errors until I cracked this. You are right. Nothing is as easy as it seems
