Hi All, I wonder if anyone has come across this problem when using Windows Deployment Server on 2012.... Trying to install Windows 7 from an image. My boot images are fine. My install images are fine. I've got loads of machines (some legacy BIOS some UEFI), that when I PXE boot, they obtain an IP address, but then fail to load WDS client... i.e. the screen where you choose your boot image... just a black screen. I've also got loads of other PC's that behave normally, load the WDS client and install images fine. Same server, same images. I've tried BIOS updates, fiddling with WDS server etc etc but cant find a solution. Usually if I turn off some UEFI features such as the OS options and enable Legacy LAN I can get them to boot. Any ideas ??? Cheers all

I'm using one ID and I have problems with them all syncing photos etc between them. Lengthy job to separately create ID's for each one

Now that would be better. Why is it I add drivers to my WDS install image and then they aren't installed with the OS install. Rubbish

Same here. We used to have tons of dead spots. Ruckus AP's are excellent. I upgraded to Ruckus after using a DLink setup. Not used Meraki much but I can definately reccomend Ruckus if you can afford it. Support (for firmware upgrades) can be a bit pricey though. Put both systems out for tender and see what prices you get back.

Anyone getting 'Please try again' error when trying to download the Win 10 preview. Getting a pop up 'Unable to save file'.... 'Please try again to save to a different location' Pop up looks like it originates from the page rather than a browser window. Getting the same in Firefox, Waterfox, IE and Chrome. Not getting it with any other downloads from anywhere else. ???

No. Not at all. All its doing is uploading bits of your AD database to the cloud. For 200 user accounts, mine takes about 5mins. I do mine off my DC. I think you can do it on a workstation even. Can't rightly remember. Keep it simple, bung it on your DC

No DirSync does the lot. Turn it on in O365, run DirSync, then it should sync about every 3 hours

I presume your .com domain is just for your website/mail etc not for remote desktops/Exchange etc. If it is for external access just be careful of getting your DNS right. 1. Set up DNS with your hosting provider and verify in O365. I'd set up a CNAME record with your hosts so your O365 tennant is pointed to from (something like) mail.mydomain.com. 2. You can run DirSync at any time. Users aren't assigned an email account until you assign a license to their user account/mailbox. Beware if you're doing this and you're using Exchange, likewise with changing DNS on your domain name. You're Exchange box will stop routing mail. The thing to do is go into their AD object, properties and make sure in the email field your desired email address is present.. then go the Attribute Editor and add a Proxy Address with their old email address. This will catch mail addressed to their old account as long as you have both domains set up in O365. This applies if the naming convention is changing e.g. R.Smith@xxx to Robert.Smith@xxx. Check the convention for SMTP: and smtp: 3. When you're ready to swap, run DirSync again (use powershell, not the Dirsync app - Microsoft advised me of this), set up your distribution lists, shared calendars, sharepoint, then license your users with whatever you want them to access. 4. You'll need to sync their old mail account (if you've changed from another domain name) with their new one so they've still got their mail. Either do this with IMAP (an lengthy admin pain) or sync with your Exchange box if you have one. Not a lot else you need to do except maybe train your staff a bit. (A hybrid DirSync deployment between my Exchange and O365 destroyed my domain controllers and a full rebuild had to be done. I'm still miffed!)

Agree with Smithson83... CAT 6 definately. You're gonna have some serious bandwidth needed in there. Nearly all switches auto negotiate the speed. Just get the right Gbic module for the new block for when you upgrade the rest

I'd buy a cheap Behringer lighting desk, couple of DMX controllers and some cheap 65+W LED lamps. You can set colours, brightness etc and basically set it how you want with a lot less lamps I presume. Add some moving lamps later if you want for about £350 LED lamps aren't as directional as standard PAR lamps. The light spread is far wider and the light is 'cold'. It needs warming up with a little red/blue. White light is made up of RED/GREEN/BLUE & AMBER. For directional spotlights you're gonna need more tham 65W I'd say
