I'd say DNS. I'd demote the 2nd DC (backup first) and see what results you get there. You can always promote it again afterwards.

Change the user mailbox to Cloud based in ADMIN. Delete it, delete from R'bin and re-sync. It did that with me on a few. Support with take ages... and you'll get bombarded with calls from different reps chasing up different stages of the call. Then you'll get the customer satisfaction team bombarding you after that to see if you were happy. Quite laughable. Still, better than dealing with our LA ; )

Easiest way I think would be an Access DB and a bit of .asp script and embedded SQL to connect/read/write to it.

Check that each user has the correct domain selected against their record.. ADMIN/USERS/ACTIVE USERS - click on user name Have you done your DNS for domains?

Do yourself a big favour... Whatever you do don't enable Hybrid Mode when you sync. It wrecked all 3 of my domain controllers at once and had to rebuild from scratch... and it lunched my Exchange server. Interesting few days that ! Bang on. That's probably it. The 'email address' field in the AD object properties is the sync'd users Primary email address and domain. If you are using two or more domain names you need to add all email addresses and aliases in the attribute editor for O365 to sync properly and assign the correct domain after the @. Primary email address begins with 'SMTP' prefix, any other addresses/aliases prefix with 'smtp' - (check on 'net if I've got that the right way round). Yep its a pain. Make sure you do this for any new users in the future too. I've got one email account where I misspelled the proxy address, it didn't sync both addresses so I had to manually add it in O365... every time I sync now I have to disable the AD account for that user or it overwrites the account with one of the same name. I'd do a few syncs with a test DC first to make sure it does what you want it to do.

Hi all, Just had a new Smoothwall installed. Trying to configure OpenVPN to work the way our old Cisco VPN worked on windows 7. Im planning on giving all staff a VPN to avoid taking data offsite on keys and to use the MIS system. We use redirected Desktops and MyDocs for all users. Got my VPN connected and can browse the network although I need some logon scripts/GPO's to run at logon so the folders redirect. I think that means I have to connect up the VPN before they log on. Can you use the Windows VPN client to connect to an SSL VPN? Or are there any other free VPN clients out there that anyone is using. Any alternative suggestions welcome. Cheers in advance

One quickie Teejay. Folder redirection. Your tip worked a treat. I can connect, ping and access my LAN but redirected folders won't display (Desktop and My Docs) I presume this is one of two things... Either a temporary profile is created when I log on so has its own Desktop and My Docs within the temp profile or Slow link detection is too low in GPO. Would be better if I could connect the VPN pre logon so all my GPO's apply upon login. Is there any way to do this with Open VPN ?? Its either that or I'll use Shrew VPN.

Thing is they'll be logging on to their domain account from home with cached credentials, not a local account. When they VPN in it should connect their redirected folders and mapped drives.
