I had a demo of the NG Securus product from Bill at Bett, and as an existing customer I did like it. Unfortunately we just don't have the budget this year (or next I suspect) to get the new server unit. For existing customers with support contracts is their a cost for the VM version? We've already got a fully virtualised server environment (one reason why there's no budget ) so would have no problems running it, and I was told the additional cost was because of the new server unit. Any info on the VM version would be great

Well I want to know when the Deduplication features are actually getting released. I suspect it's soon since it was included as a feature in the email about the next round of S7000 Discovery days I got from Sun on Monday The actual phrasing was "Learn how to deploy in-built data services, such as data deduplication, copy-on-write snapshots, cloning and data replication." I suspect it's still covered by NDA though . Will be interesting to see what happens over the next few months now Oracle has finished the Sun purchase.

Since September when PaperCut started monitoring networked printers we've printed roughly 150,000 pages. Not including the photocopiers! From that staff have printed 96,000 pages Still haven't got around to setting up PaperCut to log all of the stand alone printers.

Well something like the HP ML115 if you don't mind a tower server is more than capable of acting as an imaging server. Can normally pick them up for around the £200ish mark depending on any upgrades you may wish to add

Haven't looked back since - certainly doesn't irritate my skin anywhere near as much. Slightly expensive to get the razor, shaving brush and cream/soap to start but I find the on going costs to be much much lower. Spend pennies on razor blades these days

We currently use our .sch.uk domain, but are slowly transitioning over to using a .com domain we've recently purchased. People were complaining that email address' were just too long - which they were. Much much shorter now, and people stand a chance of remembering them! We also have the .net,.co.uk,.org,.org.uk versions of the domain. All variations of the domain work for email, together with the .sch.uk domain although we are now starting to push using the .com.

It's also on the literature I picked up at BETT from the Casio stand. Even assuming that the projector is only going to last the 5 years then the TCO verus a projector with a lamp are pretty similar given the pricing I've been getting. We're probably going to be going for the XJ-A140 - 2500 lumens so right in the middle of the range. We've been trying to spec 2200 - 2600 lumens projectors for the past year or two due to problems with light so will be good to see how well these projectors handle it

It's good to know that Casio are taking on feedback. If it had the connectivity of say a projector like the Epson EB-84e and it actually lives up to expectations then it'd be the perfect projector for us

Exactly what I was looking at doing - although I'm also tempted to look at some component to HDMI boxes since I notice they do have a HDMI input. Too many choices!

Just had a quote for the 2000 lumens model to replace a projector that's slowly dying. The price was pretty good I have to say - I'm very tempted to get one. Waiting on the 2500 lumens price to compare and then just need to figure out how to rejig the various connections. Currently all of our installs have the video signal go from the PC -> Projector -> Monitor and then also using the separate component input for a secondary source. They also use the projector to handle both sets of audio with only one audio feed going back to the speakers from the projector. I don't believe the Casio has this many connectivity options (one small negative point perhaps) so just need to think of some alternatives. Then I can go ahead and order one and play with it for real

Since our librarian hated the scanner that came with Eclipse.net we ended up buying a new one off of insight and sending it off to MLS to be setup to work correctly. Before we purchased we checked that they were pretty sure they'd be able to get it to work though. Hope that helps

East Sussex uses Uniservity now. Apart from a selection of schools that have opted out of the central solution. The majority of them tend to use Moodle
