spluckrose Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Hi, I’m trying to organise a tech fair in Cumbria. At the moment we are currently have the following vendors interested in coming along. Microsoft Apple Adobe HP Toshiba Dell Promethean Ergotron Citrix Insight What I would like to know is who would be interested in attending? We are looking to host it in the February Half Term, a date is yet to be fixed, at Ullswater Community College, Penrith. It would be free to attend and coffee / tea would be on tap Thanks for your support Simon Pluckrose 1
woody Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Hi Simon just to add my support to this, we would be very interested in a tech fair. Not everybody from way up north can make it to the best events down south. So it would be nice to have something close to home. Thanks Mark
Stevecee Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 I'm interested too, although not sure if i'm going to be working in half term. the other factor is that I'm in Ulverston so its a bit of a treck but as other have said not as far as London! Steve
tom_newton Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Drop me an email and I will forward it on to the relevant people. ICT Direct may be interested (they're local-ish) and maybe LUNS?
Sylv3r Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Sounds like something I could come across for. Thanks.
SMillerTEC Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Hi, On behalf of one of the manufacturers you mention, I'd be interested in discussing the Cumbria Tech Fair with you. Regards, Stephen
mhowell Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Hi Simon, Meru would be very happy to support this event, both in terms of presence, and in terms of sponsorship. Half term may be tough for me personally due to having one too many children than is normal all of a very young age and it's half term, however one of my colleagues would be attending Feel free to get in touch via [email protected] Many thanks Mark
SchoolsBroadband Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Hi Simon, we'd love to come but I suspect it may be a little too late ref broadband due to all the contracts needing to be resigned for another year starting March. Happy to pop up and show you our other wares though. Thanks Dave
spluckrose Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 Hi all A Quick update Thanks for all the support, currently things are still on track for the Feb half term. Hopefully in the next week or so i will get a date set with all the vendors - Will have a lot more details after Xmas. To all other vendors who have expressed an interest in attending, this event is being sponsored this year and I don’t want to step on any ones toes. If the Fair goes well and we have plenty of people attending then next year we will be looking to expand and invite more vendors. Thanks again all Have a good Xmas
KarlBlacklock Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I will be attending! Sounds good. Makes a change having to spend hours on a train, to spend the night in a dodgy hotel just for a few hours in a conference in London! Hopefully this will be the start of some more regular events like this. Especially with the local schools in the area struggling to fund their Network Managers/ICT Technicians to go to such events. This event should be well recieved.
Asterix Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Hi If you let me have the details I will have a word it would be good to come along.
X-13 Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 What I would like to know is who would be interested in attending? We are looking to host it in the February Half Term, a date is yet to be fixed, at Ullswater Community College, Penrith. Man... Cumbria is too far. Fine! I'll make my own tech fair... With blackjack and hookers. http://futuramania.cz/users/gallery/Sancoo/BENDER004.jpg

woody Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Is anybody else having trouble with the register link? In IE the page just doesn't load. In Chrome, I get the register page which I fill out and then click on Submit Details, then next page tells me: 'You have encountered a bad link or a page that no longer exists.' Haven't got Firefox installed but just wanted to check first. Mark
spluckrose Posted January 15, 2013 Author Posted January 15, 2013 Thnaks for that Mark Not sure whats going on with IE it works fine for me but am still running IE 8! The the bad link problem in Chrome will still register you details even though its saying its encountered a bad link the guys are going to have a look and see if they can fix the issues Thanks Simon
woody Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Ok, I will use Chrome to register my colleagues as well but they have probably got 2 or 3 request from me!
