Haha, thanks. I've only been here 12 months, but I've become part of the furniture in that time. They've been very complimentary of me, but sad to see me go. I think my absence is going to hit a couple of individuals considerably harder than others, and it took 7 months to recruit me in the first place due to not finding suitable applicants, which is surprising given the salary VS location. Hello all,

Quick hello from me, I'm an ICT/Media Technician based at a school in Dorset, and also Head Technician at a local community radio station. I've been a reader/lurker for a long while now and thought it was probably about time I started posting! :)

Hey EDUGEEK'ers.

I am about to embark on two great expeditions, I am leaving the comfort of university and have been recruited to work in the life long learning sector! I hope EDUGEEK will be a valuable source of technical information.

Hi, I'm John from Bedford. I'm looking for a forum to discuss student device lease purchasing, and (presumably, not sure) a BYOD network to support these when in school. Can anyone point me to the correct forum? I know some people get mad when you're on the wrong forum!

Hi John and welcome; for leasing questions people either use the Hardware or How do you do it? forums and for BYOD you can use Netbooks, PDA and Phones (we shall be changing the name!) and Wireless Networks to ask about devices and the network infrastructure.

Sorry for the breif reply, havign brekkie and thought you'd need a response :)

Morning!

Hailing from Northamptonshire, I'm a gamer, guitarist & new father to a beautiful 2 month old daughter :). I work for an IT Reseller (Boo!!) but come from a technical support background.

Got a couple of projects coming up that I may be seeking advice on, but I'll post in the relevant forum thread as and when I need to. Just wanted to say hello :D!

Hi all.

Just joined ICT manager world for the first time. Have been working as a technician in a school where I pretty much ran the place apart from doing the paper work.

Got a lot to do as they are about 10 years behind in every way.

Created a plan in my head but just looking into all the paper work that now needs to be done now.

Thanks Little-Miss for the welcome.

It's going to be chaos in the next few months but going for a new DC server and domain in the next few months so can get it exactly how I want it.

Hi guys,

I'm Charli, originally from Walsall, living in Cannock and working in Stafford, where I've just joined Stone Group!

Little bit about me... I love American comedies - think (30 Rock, Parks and Rec), I'm a massive Harry Potter nerd, into photography, and I'm a little bit addicted to Reddit at the moment.

I'm not massively techy but I'm looking forward to learning a thing or two as I go along!
