Yep, its hard to get a position in IT at the moment

 

I've got all these qualifications which i have worked so hard for and now its all about trying to get your foot in the door, which is proving rather hard as no one is really employing due to the economy. If anyone who's got any job vacancies within east sussex please can you message me :D

There isn't much around in East Sussex at the moment, I've been looking as well!

Hi everyone.

 

Time now to introduce myself after reading your posts for over one year. Started as a full time technician in January 2012 (part time before) at a secondary school in Birmingham. Realy enjoing this job and never getting bored here. Thanks for all great posts on this forum.

Tell me about it, I used to be an tech ops manager for a european company that sold out. Now im working as an accounts manager although to be honest as its still very much IT based i love it!

Well we have a lot of Novatech kit round here, so I know they're down in Portsmouth.

As its work related I have to choose a worky related name ... unfortunatly I suppose I could have put more thought into it ........ I should do a poll or a competions choose my new name lol .......

Already started posting around the forums but figured I better make a proper introduction!

 

I'm Tom (can't stand being called Thomas,) I finished school in 2009, went straight on to a college course for two years (finished that last July) and got a job as a local Primary School's IT Technician about 4 months after! Yeah, I'm only 18 so I'm probably amongst the small group of being the youngest in this 'profession' here *nervously smiles at all you veterans!*

 

It's pretty neat, but also quite intimidating. My NM is a great guy though, always supports me and is more than willing to teach me new things! It's surprising how much I've already learnt in such a short space of time, looking back at my college course it seems pants compared to learning on the actual job itself!

Anyway, I'm glad to be here. This place seems to have a great bunch of people involved and it's nice to know that if I'm in dire straits I can turn here for help! So hello to all of you! :)
