GrumbleDook Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 @GrumbleDook Question is, did you manage to get tickets for the cruise? I’m not allowed ... apparently it is frowned upon to have a side line in selling 3D specs. Also telling people who complain about it being to dark yo just open their eyes a bit more is also not good.
Janx1975 Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Hi All, Its been about 3 years since I last made use of this great site, but I am now back in the education sector with a new job title and responsibility. I have about 20 years of IT experience, 10 being as a senior IT technician in the W.Midlands before redundancy forced me into contracting. 2 years later and I am now Senior Network Technician at a school that I was lead to believe was a vanilla network, but turns out to be RM CC4 ... I feel like a rookie again. On top of that, I am also officially a line manager (always ended up being the go-to-guy and mentor in the past) which I am kind of ok with, but now in charge of the IT budget and licensing - which I have never done before. So any words of encouragement and guidance are greatly appreciated - especially as my first week in this new network has been solo, as the lead tech went on a much deserved holiday after keeping the ship afloat alone for a number of months. Kind regards, Rich 1
jslitzker Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Hi All, Joe here, from Oklahoma, United States. I'm the IT Director for a district of about 4000 students. Just ramping up for summer projects and checking out the latest and greatest of what everyone else has going on. Great resource here, that I stumbled upon! Glad to have found it! 1

fredbayker Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Very frustrated techie here, paid too well to quit. Health comes first though right? Always used this site, thought I'd register! Firstly Welcome sulik.. Secondly, paid too well to quit? In education? There’s a first for everything I guess! 1
Sulik Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Firstly Welcome sulik.. Secondly, paid too well to quit? In education? There’s a first for everything I guess! Hi! Haha yeah, okay so I'm not paid well, probably average (18k) but for my lifestyle it works. I live at home (sorta, in rented accommodation on parents' land) and am able to save a fair chunk of cash each month. Get in at 8, leave at 4, forget about work outside of these hours. Between those hours, though... stress is an understatement.
ShellfishClive Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Welcome to all the new users! Hello, hello, hello!
centerprise_lucy Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Hi all! You might have seen me posting here for the last few weeks. I just wanted to introduce myself properly. I'm Lucy and I work for Centerprise. Centerprise have been a supplier of IT hardware and solutions into the public sector, MOD and health for over 30 years. Recently, we've been growing our education team and our education offering - which included opening up a dedicated office in the Midlands. I'm here on EduGeek to learn more from you guys about your challenges and needs. Suffice to say, if you need anything, feel free to drop me a PM! 1
