ChrisH Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I have a little Fiesta Ghia W reg nothing special at all was all I could afford when I bought it nearly 3 years ago I keep thinking about getting a new car but then I think with no traffic it takes me less than 5 minutes to get to work so it would be a bit of a waste for now .
_Rob_ Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 @SYSMAN_MK I did the same thing, test drove a few and the CTR was on my list. The Cupra certainly is much more practical and has more toys, the CTR is quicker and has better handling... In the end practicality won! Rob.

_Rob_ Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 @SYSMAN_MK Yeah, same here... Being 24 when I bought it was an issue as well... The insurance for the CTR was significantly higher! I am happy with the car, although it has broken down once - the water pump failed whilst driving up to Northumberland and was stranded in the middle of nowhere! Bonus with the Cupra is lifetime membership with the AA though! Rob.
Oaktech Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 I've parked up my previous transport which was a 51 plate iveco turbo daily long wheelbase hi top van (a hang over from my previous employment) my current wheels (both of them) are a Felt QX85 hybrid bike. these will be my transport untill my new wheels are ready which will be a landrover 110 tdi van. This will take a while as i need to do a complete rebuild on it!

Earthling Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Having got that out of my system, I drive a 'N' reg Mondeo 1.8 with some letters after it, don't know what they mean, don't care. It suits me perfectly.......It and I are both old, bodywork's beginning to loose its lustre, but there's nothing wrong with the power-train. I feel really old reading this thread, I've realised I don't give a t055 about cars anymore, as long as my Mondeo gets me from A to B and runs until I retire, that's fine. Contrast this to 21 years ago, when I lusted after, and bought, a V12 5.3l XJ6, aircon, cruise-control, walnut and leather everywhere........I feel a 'Don't make them like that anymore' coming on.......so I'll go out for a sm*k* before I say it.

The 2l HDi this time, comfortable economic and I can get VAST amounts of stuff in the back!Since then I've had a 2l petrol Saab, a Honda Jazz, and I'm back in a Saab (diesel this time), and on nice days, a Moto Guzzi Breva.

As it goes, there wasn't a spot of rust on it, but we took it down to Cornwall for a holiday one year, spent £200 in petrol and I put it on the market as soon as we came back.
