After a busy few months and not having a lot of time to spend on larger projects outside of the day job it is now going to get even busier ... but I am happy with that.

 

Some folk will have already seen on my FaceBook status that today was a big day. My wife and I have been to an adoption panel to be matched with a lovely little 2 1/2 year old girl. There is still a bit of a hoop to go through with the official 'Decision Maker' going through it and signing it off, so we are not home and dry yet, but we are now safe enough to let people know. It also means that she will be with us in August.

 

As it is an adoption we will not be posting lots of pics online but will find some way to share with friends.

 

I do have to give a big thanks to @Dos_Box, @ZeroHour and @russdev for their friendly, family advice and a bigger thanks to @garethedmondson.

 

This has been 3 years to get here and these folks have kept me sane at times ... well ... as sane as I ever will be ;-)

It will be a very happy time for you and your wife and I think that I can speak for most if not all the edugeeker's that we will be the happiest anties and uncles on the planet.

 

I know from friends of mine how difficult and long drawnout the process is and with this in mind I wish you and your wife all the best for the coming events ahead :)

A couple we know have been through the process and are now a very happy family with an absolute delight of a little chap they adopted. He is a lucky little fellow as they too bring something special to being parents. The very best to you both.

Aplogies though for not saying on FB but we were otherwise occupied in trying to find out about how long the dreaded Chickenpox lasts!

(Son came down with them on Sunday and we are supposed to be flying to Majorca on Monday 16th! :Cry:)

I didn't want him to get caught up in a custody fight between us so was happy to leave him with you.

 

I did have to explain to my wife last night about the phrases 'grooving rodents', 'dancing rodentia' and 'hippy hippy shake shake vermin' ... that picture say it all :D

Late to the list here - but I was going to DM you last night. Will do so now. A public congratulations to you both. I know exactly what you have been through and the light at the end of the tunnel get's brighter and brighter with every day that passes.

As echo'd on FB yesterday, congrats to you both you will be amazing parents, I am sure your little one will have an iPod or iPhone as soon as its able to master the controls with an appropriate range of tunez from Queen to The Dead and Buried :)

I have a couple of family members who were fortunate enough to adopt children & I saw the joy it brought; may it do the same for your family too.

 

Congratulations Tony. I am sure you will be wonderful parents & make a little girl very happy.
