I have and can honestly say that they are garbage! I will read most things but there is a week of my life i will never get back now!!!

Personally I think it is a way for women to read a bit of light pron as it is wrapped up in a supposedly 'decent' book

My wife read the first one. She summarised it for me by saying "It's badly written filth."

 

Apparently the movie writes have been sold for it too so expect it in a borderline porn movie format sometime soon.

I know a lot of women who love it... So far the opinion appears to be:

 

Book 1 - Good

Book 2 - Not so good

Book 3 - The best of them.

 

I don't see what the problem is for everyone to be hooked on trash/pron novels. If people want to read a bit of kinky stuff, fair enough.

Absolutely nothing wrong with reading a bit of kinky or pron novels - but let's not pretend it is literature - and if we are going to read this sort of thing - let it be well written

It is just disguised Twilight fanfic, shouldn't expect much.

 

I think a large part of the appeal is that no-one can tell what you're reading on the Kindle, so you can sit reading trashy filth like this and no-one sitting opposite you on the tube will know. Although one of my friends did tell of someone at his work who had set her Kindle to automatically declare on Facebook what she had just finished reading, no prizes for guessing the first thing that it announced...

The thing that aggravates me is that is so badly written. There are much better examples of it's type that have just not made it big on the hype. Personally its just the poor excuse for literature that raises my eyebrows the content doesn't bother me in the slightest.

 

My feminist friend however is outraged that its portrayal of an obsessive, unbalanced and just plain abusive relationship is in someway something to aspire to just because the man in question is attractive.

 

If anyone wants a pointer to something better, just look for black lace books.

I never knew until recently that it was originally written as fan fiction based on that Twilight garbage!!! I bet when the author though she could actually cash in and make some dough from it, she did a quick "find and replace" and swapped the names Edward and Bella for the new characters names!!!

Edited to add that if the original inspiration was that garbage Twilight, then standards are low indeed. I had the misfortune to come home from Archery to find LeBoyfriend watching 'Breaking Dawn'. It was the worst thing I've ever seen and I'm told the movies are less painful than the books!

I'd hardly call it 'inspiration'. Seems a blatant case of plagiarism with the only difference being that the two characters are always doing "the bad thang'!". No idea how it got published without a law suite.
