I'm looking for a 50" display capable of showing BBC news and our own school news (Ticker?) at the same time if possible. Not sure if thats possible or not. Would prefer an all in one screen which is networked. But could possibly go the DIY computer attached to the screen route if needed. Budget of about 5k.

XIBO is a brilliant system, and the beauty is that if you got this up and running and decided at a later date you wanted to add more screens about the place, it would be easily scalable for the cost of the screen and ultra small pc for the future. Loads of support online for it too, so definitely worth checking out.

I did create a VM at one point to give to people for Xibo if anybody wants one I don't mind creating it again!

I've actually got a raspberry pi in front of me now with xibo installed. Someone mentioned it might have a problem with Chromium though. Any ideas how to test it? 1

See Planet eStream v5 Video Archiving, IPTV and Digital Signage solutions for Schools, Academies, Colleges, Universities and the Private Sector. We now have an all-one one system for archiving our old vhs tapes, recording off freeview, uploading photos, and ditial signage. My boss liked the look of OneLan ONELAN Digital Signage // Digital Signage Specialists, manufacturing Digital Signage Media Players, Complete Solution, Linux Based, Multi-zoned, Multi-media, Live TV, Transparency but it's pricey.
keckers Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Might be a bit late on this one, but I've used Sedao Imageflyer (Sedao Digital Signage) all along, it'll run mixed media and anything in a browser such as BBC NEWS 24, easy to configure to your corporate style. Easy to load up your own RSS newsfeed.

We have a Samsung MagicInfo and creating a display just to run a powerpoint is very fiddly and time-consuming. I'm now working on wiping the built-in HDD and putting Win7 + Xibo on it, if it will fit.
