I've just recieved an e-mail from our contact at the local council; confirmed this DoS attack and I quote: "These recent attacks appear to originate from approx. 40,000 households in Russia, due to their computers being infected with a Virus/Malware that was activated yesterday by the hacker"

Crikey!

Apparently this should be fixed today.......

Do you know if this is leftovers from the ddos or is this a new and fun issue all of its own?

I've had some dropouts too - very brief ones but definitely there.

Download speeds are silly too - it is going to take 65mins to download a new wireless driver, apparently - yeah,right..

Anyone had any dropouts within the last hour?

Yep "some people in the SWG area are having connectivity problems" according to someone @ SWGFL. We had slow internet from 14:20 to 14:40 but all seems ok now.

It won't help anyone with this issue, but did you know you can get text message alerts from SWGfL?

I didn't until I last rang to rant about speed/connectivity issues. I received a text at about 2.20pm today making me aware of the issue - quite a useful service.

Just received the following text message from SWGfL:

Connectivity issues in the SWGfL should now be resolved following our engineers identifying another DDoS incident. For further details contact the Service Desk

That's funny :( We're told there's nothing wrong with it evveeerrr!

Nice to see they're consistent with responses!

I'd give the service desk a ring and ask why you're having to find out from other people instead of them (i.e. lay it on thick - I hate lack of communication!)
