Hi Andy, here are my install notes: ==================== Works for Adobe CS5 and CS6 on RM CC4 Networks RM Communities thread - RM Community ==================== 1) Download and Install Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition (AAMEE) - Creative Suite Enterprise Deployment | Adobe Developer Connection 2) Run AAMEE and go through the 'Welcome' and 'Serialize' tabs, entering the settings as required. 3) On the 'Options' tab select the software that you want installed. Make sure 'Adobe Flash Builder' and 'Adobe Flash Catalyst CS5' are NOT ticked - or the install will fail! Also untick 'All Components' and make sure that no components remain ticked by manually clicking on each software selection and checking. 4) Set up your preferred settings on the 'Configure' tab. 5) On the 'Updates' tab I personally chose to NOT include any updates, this may or may not work so it's up to you what you want to do but again make sure 'Adobe Flash Builder' and 'Adobe Flash Catalyst CS5' updates are NOT included here. 6) Build the package! 7) Browse to the build location that you specified in step 2, for example mine is in; C:\Program Files\ICT - Adobe CS5 Web Premium. There should be 'Build' and 'Exceptions' folders inside. 8) Along with the 'Build' and 'Exceptions' folders, create a new .ini file using notepad and enter the following: [Package] Description=ICT - Adobe CS5 Web Premium Version=1.0.0.0 OS=5.WS,6.WS WIPackage=.\Build\ICT - Adobe CS5 Web Premium.msi ***Please note the 'Description=ICT - Adobe CS5 Web Premium' and 'Adobe CS5 Web Premium.msi' will need to be changed to reflect your specified package and MSI name! 9) Save the .ini as the same name as the description for example mine is 'ICT - Adobe CS5 Web Premium.ini' 10) So to recap you should now have a folder containing the 'Build' and 'Exceptions' folders and your settings .ini file. (You can also create a folder called 'Shortcuts' in here and put all of the shortcuts in to include in the build, or you can do this at a later stage through the RMMC.) 11) In CC4, open the RMMC and go to File > Import > Package and select 'Community Connect 3 Package' then browse to your settings .ini file and make sure 'Show package properties after importing' is ticked. 12) Click OK, enter a new version number and remove the old/original version from the network. 13) To fix the 213:11 license error, on the FRDC, open up Group Policy Management in Admin tools. Find the "All Stations" policy and edit it. Expand Computer Configuration Expand Policies Expand Windows Settings Expand Security Settings In the tree below that, right Click on "File System", and you'll be given a prompt to add a file and folder: “C:\Program Data\Adobe” “%AllUsersProfile%\Adobe” “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe” Give “everyone”, full control permissions on the folder 14) Allocate and test the Adobe CS5 package! Ah I didn't know that existed. I enabled the policy "Specifiy a list of enabled plugins" and then added "VLC Web Plugin" to the list of enabled plugins and it's working! Thanks a lot. Matt

Thanks for the info Arthur. The only solution I can find is that the VLC Media Player Web Plugin supports WMV playback. The only down side is that we will need to get every student to allow the plugin to run before it'll work. Does anyone else have any solutions that do not require user interaction or converting 100s of wmv files and then editing 100s of html pages? Cheers Matt

Hi I am been asked to get embedded WMV files to work in Google Chrome and the Google Support pages suggest using this extension to fix the problem - Interoperability Bridges and Labs Center. I've tried the extension and it does fix our problem but my next issue is how do I deploy an extension site-wide that isn't in the Chrome Web Store? I've had Chrome GPOs setup and working for a while now and whilst I can get extensions that are in the Chrome Web Store to install for all users, I cannot figure out how to deploy extensions that are stored locally on our Servers. I've created this directory: P:\ChromeExtensions In that location are: - ChromeWMV.crx - manifest.json { "manifest_version": 1.0, "name": "Windows Media Player HTML5 Extension for Chrome", "version": "1.0", "update_url": "file:///P:/ChromeExtensions/updates.xml", } - updates.xml In the Google GPOs I have enabled this setting: - Configure the list of force-installed extensions hokdglbhghcebcopdbanieangmcamaak;file:///P:/ChromeExtensions/ Done a gpupdate /force on the Server and a PC, restarted it and it doesn't work. Can anyone see what I am doing wrong? Or know of an easier solution? Converting the WMV files and editing 100s of html pages is a last resort solution. Cheers Matt

Hi I have just setup our Intranet on a new Server 2008 R2 and having issues accessing it in Chrome. In IE 9 and FF25 I can access http://intranet fine but I get the following error in Chrome: The following error was encountered: Unable to determine IP address from host name for axe-sr-mgmt The dnsserver returned: Name Error: The domain name does not exist. Oddly, http://intranet.local.domain work fine in Chrome but not in the other browsers. Chrome is configured by Group Policy and has "intranet" (not "intranet.local.domain") in the bypass list but I didn't see anything else in there which may be relevant to this issue. Does anyone know why this is and how I can fix it? Thanks Matt

SWGFL provide our Internet and it's been pretty much unusable today. System Status shows "No known issues" so I might ring them in a bit a see what's up.

Shame those 2 punches he threw at another player who was trapped in a ruck (which caused another brawl) didn't get cited or seen by the poor officials either. Calum Clark for Northampton got a 32 week ban when he intentionally broke someones elbow, and I think these type of players deserve similar lengthy bans - even if they don't hurt the player or do not "connect" with the punches. Thugs like these need to be taught harsh lessons. Disgrace to the game.

Heh I got 12/14 and all "educated" guesses. To prove that, I got questions 3 and 4 wrong and by the looks of things the hardest 12, 13 and 14 right!

I always suggest these drives to people looking for a SSD: Last Gen SSDs: Crucial M4 Samsung 830 New Gen: Samsung 840 Samsung 840 pro I have a Samsung 830 256gb SSD and it's lightening fast, however the 840 pro was released recently is meant to be much faster. Good solid stable drives.

If I intended to live hear for say the next 20 years I'd definitely fix the problem, but as I intend to move to a bigger town in the next few years (I'm bored of this small town in the middle of no where!) its not worth it

It's cost us a lot of money but the electricians (now) assure us it is safe!

I currently have the equiplent plugged into a surge protector but if I'm working on something and the power goes, I'm likely to lose whatever I was working on. We have had the problem looked at multiple times and each electrician said that the entire electrics need replacing due to it "being old and bodged repeatedly over many years." After hearing the quoted prices, a UPS is so much cheaper and it'll give me piece of mind about my electrical goods (I don't intend to live in this house any longer than 1-2 more years so there's no way I'm going to spend a lot of money fixing this problem.) Hi Guys My house is forever having powercuts - the electrics needs ripping out and rewiring but this is way too costly, therefore I want to buy a UPS to make sure that my PC + TV doesn't get wrecked by not shutting down properly. I've been doing some reading, and people were suggesting that the UPS I get will need to output more watts than my PC power supply, so 750w+. Is this true or overkill? I was looking at getting this but I cannot find much info about whether that model is any good. This UPS gets good reviews on Amazon, but I'm unsure if 405w output will be enough. I'm looking to spend around £100 - £150 - does anyone have any suggestions what to get? Cheers Matt

Hi Valve has released "Steam For Schools" for Education which gives you Portal 2 and Sandbox Universe for free - our Science department is very keen to get access to this. To me, this looks like a right PITA not only due to the firewall + proxy issues (we don't have access to the firewall) but there seems to be no way to script a way to get Steam to auto login without having to put the details into the software first. Game downloads will also be another issue but I guess I can copy the game from one PC to all the others then verify files within Steam...usually I like these projects but I think this one is going to be a huge pain. Has anyone else looked into Steam For Schools or got Steam working on their network? Cheers Matt

+1 for Wasteland rather than Dayz, but if squad mechanics + base building + missions can be modded or added into Dayz SA then that would make me instantly switch games.

We have 350 XP computers and 120 W7 netbooks. The XP machines are going to be updated during term time as of next month...

If you like the game, good for you, but why do you feel the need to go on random websites and try to "sell" the game to people? I don't understand the mindset of fanboys...

I refuse to support the devs and therefore the game as per the points I outlined above. I don't see how that makes me (us?) elitist?

WarZ is a game everyone should avoid: It also turns out that they ripped off artwork from The Walking Dead game, their trademark "WarZ" infringes on a films title and the devs are just plain scumbags. There's much more dirt on the devs / game out there but I don't have the time to find all that info.

(I see you're probably made your mind up however here's my input) There's a lot of hate for Sky broadband on the Internet but it's been excellent for me so far: - Very easy setup and a painless switch over. - Free Internet for 12 months (thank you very much!) and then £7.50 there on. - Broadband speed has doubled from 6 down to 12 down / 1 up. Considering I live in the sticks this is rather pleasing. - I've been downloading 200gb+ for the last few months (not sure how much others have been downloading but it'll be a lot as well) and no snotty emails / phone calls from Sky. Worth doing especially as my Broadband costs have gone from £35 with Eclipse to £0

Looks good thanks for that. TBH I do like Samsung products! I haven't fully decided on if I want a 256gb SSD or 128gb drive yet - need to do some more reading to see if the SSD speed increase for games is worth it. Also on my PC I only have Orcs Must Die 2 and ARMA / Dayz installed, both of which I have barely played, so I won't bother transferring stuff from Steam. Thanks for the tip though

Oh right. I might have a look at around then. I've always been a console gamer up until the last year or so, so that's most likely why I prefer contollers. Ohh thanks for the link!

I'll probably wait until xmas / new year sales to get an SSD unless I see a good deal before that. Maybe same for a monitor as well unless I find that my TV is perfectly fine. I was considering getting a controller (I don't have a 360) as IMO the older GTAs and a few racing games on a keyboard and mouse is unplayable...that's probably due to the fact I'm used to playing those games on a PS3.
