I used to a lot of sound engineering, so i've worked with a lot of DJ's - fedde le grand, judge jules,armand van helden, fat boy slim, LTJ Bukem, Dj luck and MC neat and david guetta. a lot of moderately famous bands, like toploader and turin brakes and kt tunstall i've also fitted radio mics to the queen and prince phillip and the sultan of oman also to janet street porter (in her knickers!), milton jones, and most of the comedians who appear on QI/mock the week. I've done work on the lee evans XL tour and al murray's the pub land lord show, If you consider folk musicians famous then i've worked with martin carthy and dave swarbrick on the tour for both ears and the tail, i've worked with tiny tin lady, eliza carthy, the coal porters, the ukelele orchestra of great britain, fairport convention and steeleye span and mediaeval baebes. I've got to meet paul weller and brian may, the comets and deep purple. I've also conference tech'd for the lib dem and labour conferences. i'm less proud of this.

Met the band members of Deathstars in London last year, and Herman Lee of Dragonforce just after they released their third album. I also shared a drink with Sam Totman of Dragonforce in the same meet.

gmj Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Met quite a few Rock/Metal stars.....spent a good hour with Dave Mustaine of Megadeth fame who was actually a really nice guy...chatting about music and stuff. Met Peter Steele from Type O Negative too....was a huge guy. My old band supported Blaze Bailey on his first solo tour after he get kicked out/left Iron Miaden too.
HaleStorm Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Rowan Atikinson's brother lived next door to me when i was about 6-7 (at the time Mr Bean was brand new and top TV) so i got to meet Mr Bean many times as a kid, and he knew me by name and would stop to talk to me if i was playing outside Ive met alot of bands at the Leadmill in sheffield, was good friend in school with Joe Carnall the lead singer of Milburn I work at the school the Artic Monkeys attended so they pop in every now and again to say hello (especially matt helders, who gave me a special edition supremebeing jacket that he designed) Also ive met all the disney characters and the muppets aswell (disneyland and universal studios ofc)

Tony Adams - ex arsenal player (though current at the time), nearly run me down in a golf club car park Bill Gates - had a few meetings with him when I a MVP and did contract work for the borg Steve Ballmer - as above. David Tennant - back stage at the royal shakespeare company theatre.

In the last couple of weeks I've met Janet Street Porter, Mark Radcliffe, Mark Thomas, Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall (third time now), Andy Kershaw, Adam Hart-Davis, Simon Callow and others. As always, it depends on your definition of famous! I've also met quite a lot of musicians and vocalists on the British festival scene. Had breakfast with Seasick Steve a few weeks ago, and spent half an hour with Noah and the Whale. Had a brief chat with Tom Jones last year, and said hello to Florence (of the machine). There are lots of other meetings too.

Also Patrick Moore & Sir Francis Graham-Smith Astronomer Royal. I also worked with Prof Gleeson who is not famous but she did help invent colour LCD displays. Edited October 17, 2011 by sjatkn
