I got a "superstar" sticker today from one of the ICT Teachers. That made my day... nice to be given some form of reward.

We are always a happy IT Department however all the staff know that any personal jobs come with a price in Chocolate/Biscuits/Alcoholic beverages (which ensures a fast and timely response)

So...what am I doing wrong? Everyone always says how helpful I am and how I go the extra mile to help, nothing is too much trouble etc etc but I rarely get any presents for internal or external jobs. Maybe I am just so nice they think that to be helpful is, for me, its own reward.

I got a couple of geraniums last term for helping a teacher with her PC and I'm allowed to raid the secret Office biscuit stash which is more likely to have something in it than the one in the staff room!

I got my first chocolate bar ever from a staff member a couple of weeks ago, I was stunned and that person gets priority service now, at least for a while It only took 14 years

It's always nice to get a gift from grateful staff, but it's nearly always chocolate, and I don't eat chocolate!!

Not really sure how I would feel receiving a bunch of flowers, I would very much prefer something I can consume.

I used to live with someone who was also in IT. They got a pack of beers....he didn't drink....that was a good present for me

We have a member of staff who buys us a box of chocolates at the end of every school year and at Christmas and thanks us for all our help. Strange thing is he is one of our least frequent customers and the only time he asks for help is when he actually needs it, it's never a silly question.

I ran Open Evening and everything went smoothly, received a box of Celebrations from my Line Manager's Line Manager (Great Line Manager? Does it work like Grandparents? ). Can assure you I was VERY happy with that.
