Minor milestone birthday yesterday and i think i can officially call myself a grown up.......

For presents I got --

The usual tonne of chocolate

A Purple filofax

and a -not even warm-- scarf

Lovely of them to get me gifts, but apparently now in need of something to make me organised, and something to hide my neck!!!!!

you have to laugh!

I love working out what a people are trying to say by the gifts you get ;) Never be a grown up though, I hear it is quite boring. I'm going to skip it, keep being a young person until I get old. Young people and old people have all the fun.

Growing up without growing old is the trick!

As it happens, had an interesting chat with my colleague technician here this morning, about holidays.

A certain holiday I was looking at booking was fine, until I realised it was going to be a coach trip (a looong coach trip) with people mostly of my age.... I'm 59. I had to explain to him that I really don't have much in common with people of my own age-group and far prefer the company of younger people, or my own company.

Growing up without growing old is the trick, but it's amazing how many people can't do it.

Well, maybe, although according to my children I act as if I am the same age as them - 19, 21 and 23. Or rather, that's what their friends say :)

Smellies are fine -- unless they completely misjudged you.

I am NOT a girly girly-- pink is evil and Britney must die

But i smiled and said thanks!!
