tom_newton Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Whiskey in the jar doesn't count IMO, as it is a "traditional" Irish song, so they're all covers. I like Alabama 3's cover version of "Hotel California" - but I don't think it makes "better". Also worth pointing out "The tide is high" which was a cover when Blondie did it, and was more recently heavily abused by some girl band - but hte original was actually sung by a male group. If you get a chance check out MPHO and Placebo both covering (very differently by the way) Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill.
