Theblacksheep Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 99 red balloons - goldfinger. sos - mad caddies most stuff by snuff
creese Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 99 red balloons - goldfinger. The original German version was much better than the English one.
soveryapt Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Anything by the cast of Glee IGMC *hands over a special coat* and when you're at a safe distance, if you pull this cord here .. There are so many songs that I have to avoid playing now (unless for a school disco) when out DJing because people just frown and think Glee .. ARGH .. ne'r mind ..
tudorcrisp Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 I love Blink 182's cover of Another Girl, Another Planet, Mcfly have done quite a few covers, Pinball Wizard was a pretty good cover! One of my favourites is Hey Ya by Obediah Parker, Brilliant! 1
CHR1S Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 The original German version was much better than the English one. Neunundneunzig Luftballons Auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont Agree with that one lol
tech_guy Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 Nothing beats's Nena's original. And if you're into Nena check out Satellitenstadt.
sonic1485 Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Foo Fighters - Band On The Run I'm sure I'll think of more throughout the day!
browolf Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 how soon is now by love spit love (theme of charmed~ originally the smiths) star guitar by shinchi osawa featuring au revoir simone (originally chemical brothers)
sidewinder Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 how soon is now by love spit love (theme of charmed~ originally the smiths) I'll have to listen to that, because thats a very bold statement if you consider it to be better than the Smiths version, which is an absolute classic!
djm968 Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 HIM cover of "Wicked Game" original written and released by Chris Isaak
Fatmas Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 I can't agree with the Johnny Cash version of Hurt being better than NIN's version...
aerospacemango Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) Foo Fighters - Band On The Run I'm sure I'll think of more throughout the day! Gotta say, and this'll show my age..... Listening to that now, and it's not a patch on the original! BUT....that is ONLY in my opinion!!! It's like Dave Grohl has decided that everyone should play AS MUCH as possible......His drum riffs are a little too overpowering for the track. It's a good effort, and as a fan of FF, I'm surprised it's taken me this long to hear it! Edited July 1, 2010 by aerospacemango A critique as I listen!
jumpinjamez Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Wonderwall - close between The mike flowers pops or Ryan Adams
timbo343 Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Whiskey in a jar - metalica originally done by the dubliners is a better cover.
soveryapt Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Wonderwall - close between The mike flowers pops or Ryan Adams Mike Flowers Pop FTW ..
aerospacemango Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Mike Flowers Pop FTW .. Bizarrely, I was working out of the country when Oasis first came out, so I missed the hype.....Then Mike Flowers did his cover, and I thought "What utter garbage....Surely the original must be ok?" Thus began my love of Oasis music! So, you could say that without that cover version, I may never have gone that way!
creese Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Beth Rowley's cover of George Formby's Leaning on a Lampost.
gizmo2005 Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 was thinking of some great collaberations as well as covers and i have to say Jay-z and linken park have done some great ones, covers on the other hand i would have to say N-dubz coverd the script on live lounge and that was amazing, you guys should check it out YouTube - N-Dubz cover The Script - Radio 1 Live Lounge 12/11/09
aerospacemango Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Guns N Roses - Live and let die. Not bad, imho, but again...not a patch on the original! But, hey!...that's what debate and opinion are all about! 1
maniac Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 The whole of the Renegades Album by Rage against the machine (the whole album is cover songs for those that don't know) In particular their cover of Bob Dylan - Maggies farm is genius. 1
CHR1S Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Lamar's cover of I Believe In A Thing Called Love from Live Lounge volume 1 is pretty decent too - 1
