Hi

Just wanted to ask if other 02 users are having problems at 20.47 hours.

Trying to ring peeps and keep getting connection error on my phone, even after turning it off and back on.

Anyone else having similar issues?

o2 have confirmed there is an issue and they hope to have it back up during the night.

(From a Facebook contact who called them)

Twitter is a good place to look too.

o2 also confirmed it on Twitter.

"There's an issue affecting our service in some of the UK. Sorry - our engineers are investigating and we'll update you when we can."

I know one thing for sure, i am not on o2 but tried to contact them earlier.. twice in fact to query a problem and both times they said hello and they the line went dead.. :\ i was like that was nice.. so phoned orange instead who were a great help :) lol --- Off Topic i Know! --- but seeing this might have something to do with the issues calling them earlier.

Call volume. Probably their phone system couldn't cope.

"There has been a network failure at a YATEs point where construction

work has knocked off the power. The whole of the O2 network in the UK is

having problems due to this and have no timescales to when this will be

fixed. Customer services had over a thousand people in the queue by the

time it got to 8:45pm and most advisors would have been unaware until

this point. Also affects Orange and Vodafone."

So much ranting on the o2 forum. I'm sure they're working to fix the issue, people don't like being separated from their mobile do they?!

My 02 Iphone working fine but my sons 02 phone is not working at all.

Glad I checked on here, thought it was a rob with his sim/handset

The O2 3G network are having problems, to re-connect to the network while there are problems, you need to go into your phones settings and change the network config from dual mode or 3G to GSM, you should be able to connect to the network.

Don't forget to change your phone settings back once the problem has been fixed.

One would have thought a national mobile phone network operator would have some form of resilience against that sort of failure.

I've not had a problem - most likly down to the local area

do you mean failing to connect to other networks? could it actually be the phone?

My o2 is fine here in East London, but a friend of mine has been told that all of Kent and London are not operational and they are aimimg to resume normal service by midday.
