Geeks and their pets names

We have a cat called CLEO, my mums cat so its short for Cleopatra but I just think of the RBC every time

We have a budgie called bilbo, a rabbit called fudge, a hamster called scrabble, a guinea pig called roddie and we used to have another called noodles. (mine was the deceased one) and the rest belong to my sister who is also a bit of a geek.

I have a cat called Storm (he turned up on our doorstep after a thunderstorm and never left) and tropical fish most of which are nameless apart from a Bristle Nose catfish that my four year old has named Uglyfish.

 

One of my friends had a cat they called Cooking Fat. They shorted it to Cookie.

I got 2 fish, a Plec called Plek and the others an Angel Fish called Angel... I didnt name them though, the ex did but the names stick.

 

On a side note, my car is called Vikki who happens to be a Vectra and she is my ultimate pet.

It must be something about Bristlenose catfish... they certainly seem to have more character than anything else in our aquarium.

 

We bought 2 very small ones for our tank years ago, one was bigger and the other so they rejoiced in the names Bigg'un (turned out to me the male) and Little'un (the female).

 

Sadly Little'un died a couple of years ago, but Bigg'un is still going strong and rules the bottom of the tank, going blotchy every time he falls out with the Clown Loaches (usually because they've decided to sleep in his tunnel)!

 

None of the other fish have names.

Indeed, i have 3 Bristlenose catfish in my tank. 1 albino and 2 black. They more fun to watch than the common plec i have in there also.

They do, females have stubble. where as the males have large bristles over his nose.

We've had our male Bristlenose for about 6 years now and we'll all be upset when he eventually dies. We'll definitely replace him.

 

Periodically he goes through a tunnelling spree, creating mountains of gravel, uprooting plants and generally upsetting the other fish as gravel is sprayed everywhere and clatters against the glass. It seems to last a couple of weeks and then he settles down again for a few months.

 

He fiercely guards the peas we drop in to the tank, chasing off all the other fish

Defrost them first, then pinch them to peel the skin off and just drop them in to the tank. I usually drop in half a dozen which gives the other fish a chance!

 

Cucumber is great, but it floats. It is worth buying a plastic clip that suckers onto the side of the tank - you can use it for lettuce too.

i just stick a spoon through the cucumber then use a net to get it out once they have finished withit.

I think if you swap the C and the F you wll be closer to the cat's true name
