IT_Guy Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Wow! Richer Sounds are doing a bit of a bargain here! BLU-RAY from Richer Sounds Good price but I'm not sure why I need a blue-ray player. I'd be interested in something that would let me play HD quality on my HD ready TV without buying the Virgin V+ box.
Dos_Box Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 I'm getting the V+ box soon (late October actually, it was the earliest they could fit me in!). My media PC had a HD tuner card fitted, but is next to useless (Windows 7) as ATI have stuffed their drivers and since BBC HD have shifted their frequency it does not work correctly anymore until ATI fix the problem. Until then I have a cheap Nvidia 9500GT on order which apparently works flawlessly/
john Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Shame its only in a couple of stores down south
pooley Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Avoid the "Denon" its a buggy, poor quality POS player.
K.C.Leblanc Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I don't think that'll work with my 21" CRT telly. However spotted this on empire direct (who I assume are now Richer's appliance division). If it's any good that's very tempting.
bossman Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 @IT_Guy: Have just been sent a link to this:Iomega ScreenPlay HD 500GB Multimedia Drive - Misco.co.uk Not genuine HD but close and plays all formats looks pretty cool for the price.

So I could attach that to my living room PC and TV, load it up with films and the jobs done! Good price as well........
nsherin Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 For those that are interested, the Sony is an excellent budget Blu-Ray player. Great picture quality and stunning sound quality - I send the audio to an Onkyo TX-SR606 AV receiver as part of my hifi/home cinema setup to process the audio, as opposed to using the decoder on the player.

I'll agree. I am sending it through to a Sony AV Receiver, and it is superb.
