neilmc Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Hey, 1 of my friends moved into a new Flat yesterday and i wanna get her a nice moving in gift. Can anyone help me as ive got no idea what to get a 19 year old girly. Cheers
Reaper Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Cup of sugar? Desperate Housewives Season 1? Battlestar Galactica Mini-Series? I'm guessing you aren't close enough to buy her fun underwear?
neilmc Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 Actually shes the ex, but still good friends tho. but then again she may get the wrong idea if i got fun underwear
K.C.Leblanc Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Ikea or Argos vouchers. Particularly if she's moving from her parent's or from a shared place. She'll need loads of domestic stuff.
SC-UK Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Actually shes the ex, but still good friends tho. but then again she may get the wrong idea if i got fun underwear But it might work out brilliantly for you
garethEds Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Whoops clicked the wrong button there and gave thanks LOL. Why not offer to help her decorate? That would be a handy present. GJE
neilmc Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 she lived in a 3 bed semi while i was going out with her n i helped decorate that, n that took me weeks, and then she didn't like the colour so we had to change it, arrrggg, neva doing that again lol. I do like the idea of Ikea or argos vouchers neva thought of that.
WStore_Dan Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Hoover? Iron? Only kidding! How about a fake plant or something? Maybe a nice picture?

It's just that when I broke up with my ex and moved out I ended needing sooooo much stuff. I remember having a row with my brother because he bought me an expresso machine and I told him to take it back and change it for a lawn mower.
p858snake Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Either giftcards for local shops/ikea ect or something that can decorate, for example candles.
dhicks Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 ive got no idea what to get a 19 year old girly. She sounds like just the sort of girl who could do with a good-as-new, blue-with-swirly-bits-on sofa bed. An absolute bargain at a mere £150 (negotiable), available for pick-up from Tooting, London. -- David Hicks

dhicks Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 No personal interest in that one at all dhicks? Belive me, it's worth £150 to avoid traipsing around Ikea 5 weeks running looking at home furnishings. -- David Hicks

Halfmad Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Ikea vouchers or a novelty door stop - John Lewis do a little leather cat one that's utterly-cool!! Got it on my wedding gift list, bet nobody gets me it but the other half gets all of her sodding plates!
Mandy Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I've just moved, if someone was to buy me a gift (i should be so lucky!) I'd really like some nice towels - saw lovely ones in john lewis with swirly bits on... Or a knife block Or a nice lamp Something practical, but pretty... cant go wrong!!
