rolfea Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 we have about a hundred discs we don't want.. anyone think of a game we can invent to get rid of them in an entertaining way? Disc shooting wouldn't work as they are not heavy enough, and we have nothing to shoot them with. So all idea's welcome!
featured_spectre Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 set them up in a tower, and drop bricks onto them, or burn them using a magnifying glass. May take a while but thoroughly enjoying!
kevbaz Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 make a artsy fartsy collage mirror type thing on your office wall
jamesb Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Remember those old foam disc throwers? I wonder how far they'd launch a CD, with appropriate modifications of course.

eramandi Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJA70LFhuKY]YouTube - CD in a Microwave[/ame] Quite a pretty little display. 1
Ric_ Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 A couple of years back the DT department took hundreds off my hands for use as little hovercraft - they glued old bottle tops ontop them and then stretched a balloon over that so that the air rushed out through the centre hole.
rolfea Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 make a massive disco ball... That would be huge.. and uber tempting. Wouldn't we have to make them all square though? thats alot of effort! A couple of years back the DT department took hundreds off my hands for use as little hovercraft - they glued old bottle tops ontop them and then stretched a balloon over that so that the air rushed out through the centre hole. That's alot of bottle tops, way to many E numbers before diner. But could race them, almost like a geeky rubber duck race Glue them togther and make a chair or table out of them:p or glue them to a chair? easier? Mmmm, microwave them! We used to put all the free CDs in the microwave when we were at uni. It's pretty! Food Tech probably want their microwaves whole build a clay pidgeon style launcher and fire them at the sports field on sports day!!!! CD's are to light, blow around to easily. If not we'd just get a kid to throw them "Explode" them with a Dremel? YouTube - Exploding CD Youtube's block on my mac, will check it out later. In the mean time, explain what happens? make sure that they they have no personal data on them. using CD labels print various highly confidental central Government style labels and then leave them on Buses and trains. Then sit back and watch the local news reports They're only Dell discs, class idea but printing labels could class as a "waste" of resources for this reason. Might get one at home and do this though Remember those old foam disc throwers? I wonder how far they'd launch a CD, with appropriate modifications of course. That's an idea. All we need is two REALLY FAST spinning wheels placed an appropriate distance apart *contemplates* make a artsy fartsy collage mirror type thing on your office wall To original, we haven't got all that much blue tack too or burn them using a magnifying glass. May take a while but thoroughly enjoying! Isn't that why god invented ants?
rolfea Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) Araldite them to random teachers' desks... or the cd drive GENIUS! Keep the ideas coming, will film the Tech team (all two of us) carrying out the best idea and stick it on here. Probably in the summer holidays if it's messy Edited June 9, 2009 by rolfea
