So what exciting projects do you lot have on at the moment?

 

Have just completed a couple of mine.

 

Setup a Virtual server HOST

Migrated to exchange 2007 (from 2003) - Virtualised on server 2k8 (64bit)

Migrated & Decommissioned a failing DC

Just finished visualizing Print/DNS server

 

Have decisions to make on a backup solution (software) and NAS/SAN setup.

So what exciting projects do you lot have on at the moment?

 

Taking some holiday

 

 

Which, of course, still means doing plenty of work, but stuff that I want to: packaging a module for authenticating to Apache with an OpenPGP key

Currently working on reghosting laptops with the latest image and encryption software, it seems to be ruling my life at the minute! I will be glad when it is all over.

Got a couple of projects on the go at the moment, I'm creating a web based pupil achievement system to replace the schools current paper based one and sorting out the schools broadband connections... hopefully it'll all be done in time so I can have an easy time of it while the kids are off at the end of term

Designing a cashless catering system.

Planning the re-addressing of our network into a larger address range.

Just ordered a load of 15" digital photo frames for the head's office for a project in there.

When you say designing you mean planning where the kit is going to go or actually building it, as we have a cashless biometric system which just works a treat and this was installed by a private company to our design and wasn't that expensive.

Builders in; turning two small rooms into "offices" for peripatetic / part time teachers. (Gets one out of my office!). So a few network points, some audio wiring, keeping the builders up to scratch. Lots of noise and dust, so no peace and quite.

Actually doing. We got quotes and they were very expensive - more than my boss was willing to pay. We now have the actual hardware, and I'm just working my way through the software.
