Mandy Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I have volunteered to do something in the office to raise money for Comic Relief, i am stuck on what i should do?!?! Any Ideas?!! ;):p;)
laserblazer Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Our kids have all come up with fundraising stuff and by far the most popular has been a quiz.
Mandy Posted March 12, 2009 Author Posted March 12, 2009 I was thinking of something more you know more 'funny'! Umm thinking of doing a sponsored walk in my pyjamas?? Something down that route?? (not on my own - my colleague is up for doing something too!)
Hightower Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 See, I normally think of what I want to do before I decide I'm going to do it Hows about an abseil down the side of the building using nothing but a X metre (replace X with the height of your building) CAT5 cable?
Guest richard_s Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 We are being boring at work. Just wearing noses but may have to "loose" mine at the first chnace I get.
Dos_Box Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 We shall be running a scheme using our donate button tomorrow as well as a couple of other ideas. *what were they again Shaun?*
ZeroHour Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 *what were they again Shaun?* See my post: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-edugeek-news-announcements/32307-red-nose-day-09-a.html
contink Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I think doing the normal commute dessed in a clown outfit or hamming it up as Heidi complete with a toy goat whilst playing it very straight on the bus, train, etc... would probably be a good giggle... Just pretending you don't know why everyone is staring, etc... Unfortunately I'm stuffed for ideas this year as I'm working from home tomorrow... times like this I wish I was part of a company rather than self-employed.
WStore_Dan Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Fancy dress here tomorrow.... We have to donate the following in to a pot £1 If you come in fancy dress £2 If you come in something red £3 If you don’t take part Also cakes on sale for £1 as well as a Red Nose Grand Prix day although we have no idea what this is at the moment! I'll take pictures of the various teams in their costumes and stick them up on here for a laugh! I'll also try to put a few offers on here tomorrow that will have a donation going to Comic Relief for each product sold Bring on the madness!
localzuk Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 How about... steal everyone's mobile phones and send a couple of texts each to the 66609 (message body must be YES)? £5 donation per text...
tech_guy Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 How about stuffing a red lettuce up your nose...? Topical.
WithoutMotive Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Our school don't support Comic Relief. Something I completely disagree with but what can you do?
cromertech Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 We collected pictures of the staff in their younger years and are running a competition for the students to guess who they are. Might be a bit late for you to organise anything like that now though
Guest coquet636 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Sell kisses, there seems to be quite a few on here who would be willing to purchase after the response you got from sightings on the edugeek webcam at BETT...!!!!!!
rad Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 wear your clothes backwards, just make sure you can undo them to spend a penny
Mandy Posted March 12, 2009 Author Posted March 12, 2009 (edited) We collected pictures of the staff in their younger years and are running a competition for the students to guess who they are. K.C.Leblanc Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I'm going to auction off my Boss's chair, he doesn't know yet.
Hightower Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I'm going to auction off my Boss's chair, he doesn't know yet. I used to have a boss where I could do stuff like that. Turned his number plates upside down - police stopped him, he wasn't happy. His come back was sticking my car in post it notes so it looked like Big Bird from Sesame Street. The good old days .
Guest coquet636 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Kisses... i would but you haven't seen some of the guys i work with! Well limit it to just girls and get even more money for the lads just to watch.. lol. Oh dear!!! somones just lowered the tone!!!!
webman Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Wear tasteful, stylish red underwear; and ask people to guess how much it cost. Each guess costs them some money. For added effect, do handstands/cartwheels - moving targets are more difficult to judge

powdarrmonkey Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I was poleaxed by the image of webman under duress... no, not pursuing that thought.
webman Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Is this what Bossman's making you do for Comic Relief? (or is that just a normal Friday) Oh yeah, of course... watch this space for report + video tomorrow afternoon!
Little-Miss Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Apparently i've been volunteered for "Splat the teacher" later by my Line Manager... One lady in Admin is dressed as Batman. Another is dressed like Nora Batty! All the classes are doing there own thing after Lunch. I think i'm going into the room with Singstar...lol
WStore_Dan Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 A quick glance around the office floor and we have... Ironman Superman Indiana Jones Scooby Doo A big yellow duck Punk rocker A guy in accounts dressed in a tiny mini skirt (very worrying) A pirate Someone in her pyjamas Fred Flinstone And various others that I have no idea what they are meant to be! I'm just sat here in shorts & flip flops with a red nose day t-shirt and fosters straw hat - so inventive! We appear to have some sort of racing track marked out on the floor and some radio controlled cars ready to go - should be interesting!
