ZeroHour Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 As you can see our new Red Nose Day theme is being rolled out. We are planning to take donations for Red Nose Day too so if you feel like donating please do so once I post its avaibility and you should see the donate button change. Any donations made from now will be resent to them as well. Also we have reset the max online users count. On saturday morning we (edugeek) will donate 10p per user in the max online users count for the 2 days. Basically if we had say a peak of 450 users online during the 2 days we would donate £45 to red nose day from edugeek direct. So for the next 2 days or so you should try to live on edugeek and we will see how high we can make the number go for charity. I know is says "Do something funny for money" but you guys dont need to for us. Just be on edugeek as much as possible and money will be raised Do something on edugeek for money EDIT: Donations are live. Any donations made will go to edugeek but I will resend it to comic relief. They are using a custom approach for paypal donations so there is no easy way to send it direct. People who donate will get a special rank as well
stu Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Tables should be red too or table back ground as it all bit half done atm (no offence, just IMO)
ZeroHour Posted March 12, 2009 Author Posted March 12, 2009 /me goes off to text ric and ask him to kick stu! I thought about it but the red nose day red is a bit much if it was everwhere. Its bright anyway before the page loads completely. More things may come tbh in a little bit. Bright red may be a problem for users too so I will need to seed another layout for people with eyesight problems too if it was everywhere.
stu Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Doesnt have to be quite a prominent as the red nose red just in same sort of area
Ric_ Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 /me goes off to text ric and ask him to kick stu! He needs a slap for not telling me about the road closure anyway!!!
stu Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 to be fair i didn't even notice the road was closed till you were really late it wasn't that busy at 7.30 so there were no traffic jams.
localzuk Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 (edited) This has made me sad It's made the 20th birthday of the World Wide Web take a back seat. Edited March 12, 2009 by localzuk
Guest coquet636 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 This has made me sad It's made the 20th birthday of the World Wide Web take a back seat. Surely you can let it go for one year.... after all it is for CHARITY (uses smashey and nicey voice)...
localzuk Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Surely you can let it go for one year.... after all it is for CHARITY (uses smashey and nicey voice)... It's a big milestone... It's only 20 years old once. (And yes, it is for charity, but charity is not just a day of the year, it is a lifelong activity).

True but save up all your excitement you were gonna use this year for the 25th as a quarter of a century is worth a good celebration.....
localzuk Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 True but save up all your excitement you were gonna use this year for the 25th as a quarter of a century is worth a good celebration..... Does that mean I should have a big party next year for my birthday then?
rad Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Well Done guys. What are we doing for Red Nose Day in schools then? Non uniform here, shame we have a photoshoot and I am part of it but need to be in normal atire, so a red coat is my contribution over my shirt and tie!

john Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Glitz and Glammer for us, I have no idea what to wear, I've got a dinner suit that's bout it for me really lol
bloxy Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I have managed to cultivate a quite convincing red nose by sneezing and blowing it all night. My daughter is 9 and very dischuffed that her school were doign nothing but a cake sale...she's doing a petition next year she said. My son is in year 7 and him and his friend went to the year head and asked if it was ok if they wore pyjamas - three of them, so he did. Also had to ice cakes and stick cherries on. They went into school smiling
