WithoutMotive Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Don't forget! Clock go back 1 hour tomorrow morning at 2am. All those with radio-controlled clocks need not worry... but that's just lazy. I have a stupid obsession with time accuracy so I'll be making sure every clock in the house is exactly to time before I go to bed tonight
mortstar Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 But surely the time will be wrong if you set it before 2am Thanks or the reminder
kmount Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 But surely the time will be wrong if you set it before 2am Thanks or the reminder Thats what I was aiming at
WithoutMotive Posted October 25, 2008 Author Posted October 25, 2008 Yes, maybe it will... but I'll be asleep so it won't bother me so lol
mac_shinobi Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 set your alarm clock an hour later without changing the time and then change it the day after - would be a bit quicker
WithoutMotive Posted October 25, 2008 Author Posted October 25, 2008 Nah. If I did that I'd forget and freak at being late for something. lol
mac_shinobi Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Get you out of bed faster and then you would realise that you did not have to rush and you would be awake and alert lol Who needs red bull eh
WithoutMotive Posted October 25, 2008 Author Posted October 25, 2008 But it'll be Sunday. Who wants to be awake and alert on a Sunday?? lol
mac_shinobi Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 ok this time it dont count but if it was during the week days then it would work lol DOH!!
Sylv3r Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Looks the caretakers will be busy synchronising all corridor and classroom clocks!
WithoutMotive Posted October 25, 2008 Author Posted October 25, 2008 Looks the caretakers will be busy synchronising all corridor and classroom clocks! There were some red-tape problems with this at work. It was asked of everyone to help the caretakers out by changing the clocks in their own classrooms before half term. This meant getting up on chairs or whatever to reach the clocks, changing the time and putting them back. SMT didn't seem to have a problem with this. However, when the LRC Manager wanted to change the curtains in the LRC she wasn't allowed because she wasn't insured to be up that high and, apparently, neither were the caretakers! So, we can get on chairs to change clocks but can't go up to change curtains. No one can. But, of course, the caretakers can get a massive ladder to get footballs off the roof of the gym. Sorry... rant over.

But, of course, the caretakers can get a massive ladder to get footballs off the roof of the gym. Have some empathy with you here, having just been on a Working at Height H&E course. I am apparently not allowed to carry anything when climbing a ladder or step ladder. When I asked how I was meant to get a projector down from the pole it was suggested that I get a carrier (like a shoulder bag). Either that or a mechanism to lower the pole to working height whilst standing on the floor. (Working at height is to be eliminated wherever possible) I can see that idea going down a storm with SMT - not. As for clocks, I too alter them all before retiring. Who cares what the time is - it's all relative anyway.
russdev Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 @Work we have got radio clocks in lot of rooms to save time changing them etc Russ
wizzard Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I can remember the time years ago when ceefax put the clocks forward an hour instead of back an hour
Pete10141748 Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Wooo! 1 extra hour of playing Fable 2 tonight! erm, i mean.... yay, an extra hour in bed. asleep. heh heh heh.............
Dos_Box Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Unfortunately children are no respectors of this policy and so I have been up since 6am watching My Neighbour Totoro!
russdev Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 6... alright for some 5:00 here dam body clocks... Russ
WithoutMotive Posted October 26, 2008 Author Posted October 26, 2008 I've only been up since 8 but was wide awake. Instead of going back to sleep, I, for some reason, decided to get up and go out in the back to try and get all the rubbish in the wheelie bin.
EduTech Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 I went to sleep at 3ish.. -1hr 2ish (bloody GF on phone) and then was up again at 6ish.. straight onto gears of war 2 Got to go out and do some work in a min though..
dezt Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 I feel lazy now, went to bed about 1 ish, only got up now, 11:40, feeling refreshed. Just thinking how the bell will run at school, it's o a timer set to go off at certain times, but the site manager can't re-program it because he's been in America for 2 weeks and has still got 1 week left.... this could be interesting when the kids get back after half term and the bell to send them home goes at 2:05
sparkeh Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Up early, cramming for Psychology test later this week. So much to remember!
gaz350 Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 found out that a certain someone was working in a primary school last week during half term. clock was wrong in a ICT suite so he changed it. then realised they were all 1 hour slow!!!! (this was on monday) so changed them all! turns out before going on the holidays the caretakers had changed all the clocks ready for the 1st day of term tomorrow!!! (you know who you are!!!)
richard.thomas Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 I had completely forgotten about this! Luckily I've got a radio clock, which confused me as it was an hour out, then when the computer was aswell I realised the clocks had changed.
