Cashless Catering

Afternoon!

 

As our current provider (Tali) are getting out of the cashless catering market I am starting to prepare a shortlist of companies we may want to consider moving forwards.  At the moment I am aware of Cunninghams, Civica and SwiftQ.  If anyone has any experience of the above it would be greatly appreciated, particularly around the following areas if you know:

• Online Payments - Yes, via ParentPay | Yes, via own platform | No
• MIS Sync (particularly iSAMS or via Wonde / Groupcall)
• Integration with MySchoolPortal

 

Any feedback before I properly start digging would be greatly appreciated.

Just an FYI, you will pay more for a yearly integration cost between a 3rd party payment provider (Such as parentpay) with CRBCunninghams than you would be to use their iPayimpact platform. So make sure they quote you with that when pricing up your options

I would also like to hear about CRB Cunninghams. 

We use IRIS Biostore but school want to move payment system to Arbor Pay which doesn't integrate, and there is some other issues with the Biostore setup. They seem keen on CRB but we're still in early stages as we are in contract for another 10 months.

Had a demo of CRB yesterday, Till seemed good for what we need. Has their own API for MIS sync and ParentPay so no Wonde or Groupcall. 

 

Our catering provider also works with Civica and LiveRegister so just organising demo's with those.

We are moving (today!) from Iris BioStore to Civica. When we got our quotes through, Civica were happy to use our existing tills. CRB weren't and quoted literally £000s more as they were selling us the hardware too.

We use Cunninghams here, sync'd with Arbor and payment top ups are all done in Arbor itself.

 

We were hosting the Server ourselves until a couple of weeks ago but it has now been migrated into the cloud - our catering provider has an Azure Instance of Impact they run a lot of schools from centrally.  I just have all the 'tills' and their equipment on it's own VLAN with certain ports open on the Firewall.  Seems to work very well presently, few teeting issues with the migration but sorted eventually and quite quickly by Cunninghams.

We/LEA use Cunninghams (iPay and Fusion). Pupils have to pre-order food as well. There is no ordering as and when they want food. So I cnanot just walk to the kitchens to purchase a slice of toast if I feel like one. I have to order before a certain time. Annoying for me - but apparently it has cut food waste.

 

System seems to work well and I have very little complaints.
