We have a mixed fleet of Unifi Discs, mainly Nano HD, LR and Some U7 The Dream machine we have has never been reliable. Are we just unlucky? The latest issue is takes ten minutes to come on and says Unable to Retrieve Status Tried reset etc to No avail We are pretty much down the Unifi path to stay with, just would be useful to hear some other experiences TIA Alastair

Some sites not all, bing works ok, apple, Google no, some parts of Office 365 Works fine tethered to phone so does seem a combo of IOS and Netsweeper

Hi All, Currently use Talkstraight Wanted to setup iPad filtering offsite, to fix any potential issue should they be taken away from the Site where they would be filtered That was duly setup.. However .. Newly built iPads no freeze Looking at logs think this is because we enabled "Global HTTP Proxy", manual and relevant details Its like that setting is going on first The iPad then gets stuck because the Cert goes on to as part of a Profile, but with that setting on it goes through the Proxy and errors due to Cert, ie the Connection being intercepted We can turn the setting back off, however it likely will not pick up the updates Only happened on some iPads today, previous ones rebuilt yesterday where ok Restrictions mean Cannot Airdrop cert Cannot Scan QR etc It seems reasonable this is the issue However cannot seem to get around it to put a Cert on Any thoughts? Hi All, Notes given to us by our Exams department detail some AQA requirements Students can complete the tasks and produce the evidence across several sessions. Students’ evidence (either hard copy or digital) must be kept securely by the teacher and access to assessment responses must be controlled. Students aren't permitted to access their work in between the assessment sessions. How are other people meeting these requirements using Teams ? TIA, Alastair

How do others deal with Offsite devices, could be Laptop or iPads, for filtering? We use Talkstraight with Netsweeper, Senso and use Jamf for Management TS in theory have a way but seems unlikely Senso has an App but in effect you seem to Block Safari and use the App, it also does'nt tie in with our general filter - Netsweeper TIA Alastair

We are Unifi for Wifi and Cisco for LAN. Vape we have some cheaper units (Tuya) The Cisco gear will have to last a while yet However it has not gone unnoticed that a School could go Unifi across the Estate WAN, LAN, Doors, Bells, Vape Detectors and CCTV

Agreed, very unlikely. Starlink seems interesting due to not being tied to a provider or existing infrastructure That said we are also looking at other angles such as poor UPS run time due to battery capacity, server room aircon failure. Its just one facet

We use Talk Straight BT Fibre Netsweeper / Fortigate If we did get another link it, lets say Starlink for arguments sake. We could only use in very specific circumstances as our filtering is by ISP and we do not have anything onsite. How do others work around this ? TIA Alastair

We solved it partially, we think the password we are using on config Manager was wrong. That said it then comes up and says "You can leave remote management in Settings" Apparently this comes from ADE (Automated Device Enrollment) This seems to line up, as others we have show enrolment method as being ADE iPad on ASM JAMF Selected for Management iPad erased Tried Wifi and USB adapter ADE does not evoke, so left with option can leave Management

Hi, Originally we bought some iPads via a supplier who had enrolled them in School Manager. We bought some other one offs, added to Jamf We had supplier add the serial to School Manager Originally we used Apple Configurator to build them, however even updating to latest version it does not seem to work and misses out config, eg No Wallpaper Does not say Part of XXX School etc What are we missing?
