I spent about half hour using AI to create me site that displays school name then 12 hour time with seconds and then the Centre Number:xxx just below. (anyone wants it lmk) its then wrapped to cloudflare pages free of charge hosting so kept there and outside the network. There is a little to set full screen too. Using windows login account and a script it auto loads. Do you guys use projectors/boards as clock or?

This doesn't need a technical solution to a non-technical issue - this is a USER problem. Get them/your exams department to buy a simple digital clock big enough for them to see/site team to mount it. Accuracy: It must be "reliable". If a clock is fast, slow, or stops during an exam, it is considered a failure in administration. Supplementary Information: The clock must be accompanied by a board showing: The Centre Number. The Subject Title and Paper Number. The Actual Start Time. The Actual Finish Time. On-Screen Tests: If the exam is taken on a computer, the JCQ "Instructions for conducting on-screen tests" state that each computer should ideally show the time remaining. If not, a wall clock must still be visible to all. Important for 2024/25: The ban on all wristwatches (including simple analogue ones) is strictly enforced to prevent any potential for high-tech cheating via smartwatches, making the room clock the only legal timekeeping device for students. Wow Didn't know that myself. I've always used either digital or analogue (Non-smart, Casio or others) watch with countdown timer for exams, that was a very long time ago however. That DOES seem a tad discriminatory to me surely? What about kids with vision problems?

We have had all sorts happen including powercuts so this is light work. We have multiple clocks from wharton the exam ones but still was requested to use a projector and thrown on the big screen. We also about 6 venues too. So ease of use they preferred this instead of clocks. 1

What about kids with vision problems? They have had no issues seeing larger clocks and usually part of the access arrangement groups which are situated elsewhere with more support. I dont know about you but the thing i find is students struggling with analogue clocks so they are all digital for us now.

Before you spend money check with your exam department if they want seconds shown. We were advised to not have seconds as the constant ticking down can cause some students anxiety.

If that breaks there would be a bigger issue lol. its a basic html, jss and whatever hosted on cloudflare pages FOC. worst case analogue clock or a free website that shows the clock.

I did see this but I didn't think its right to pay for a clock like this as its so basic. im sure i can generate one with extra time and stuff using ChatGPT but not yet.

I like that the exams office can set up all the exams in advance and then invigilators just have to choose it from a drop down , they can also edit them for last minute changes and smart boards can display it using in built browsers because its just a webpage with a shared login., makes it a lot easier as many invigilators aren't that good at tech. Might be worth building your own but £45 pa seems good value

I’ve got it whitelisted and a shortcut to its Edge extension store page deployed to our centrally managed Edge bookmarks folder. It can affect website performance (YouTube videos can take longer to load), so didn’t want to force it on everyone.

oceanic Posted May 22 Posted May 22 I made a clock that has extra time, reminder alerts and runs multiple exams at once. It displays digitally so the non-analogue students can read it. It is html so can download and run locally on Mac or PC, or there is a version that can create an app on an iPad by downloading the webpage to the main page and it will create an icon. Get them at GitHub.
